God hates sinners or sin maybe. But it would be self-evident that anyone going to a church is trying to recitify that.
We can accuse the Catholic church of a lot of things, but I'm not sure that's one of them and from what I've heard from Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell I'd stay some Protestants preach hatred pretty good too!

I went to the Catholic church for the first 32 years of my life and can honestly say I never heard the priest say that God hates me.

i'm so sorry you've been mislead and unfortunately many people who obviously know nothing about the Catholic denomination are thinking they know something by posting ignorant asnwers. I sure hope you will read what those who are catholic or even those former catholics had to say - i've been attending and learning now for well over 3 decades and i've never been told that.
i think the most negative thing i've even been told is how it hurts and disappoints God when I sin.
God bless!

I have never heard that. Christians of any denomination do not preach that. Remember, Satan will use people to twist scripture and send false messages. Be careful what you say and the damage you cause God and the church by your words.
For every tic and every toc and every step in life we walk...goes with us on judgment day.

The Catholic Church officially teaches that God intimately loves every human being:
God's love is "everlasting": "For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you." (Isa 54:10)
Through Jeremiah, God declares to his people, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." (Jer 31:3)
With love in Christ.

It is a control thing, if they can make you believe that you have to come to confession and get a priests forgiveness then there is money involved, which of course if good for them. If God can be pictured as this big boss man that the only way you can get to Him is through the priest or Mary or confession or eating a cracker administered by the priest, they've got you right where they want you. Never let it be said that there is only one mediator between God and man. "The man Christ Jesus" Which is of course the truth..................

While I was raised Catholic I never heard of that. They illustrate God as a being of infinite mercy (as long as you repent, of course). Maybe it's the cogregation not the religion you mean.

It's an effective way to keep people in line and giving money.
And contrary to what the first guy said, don't ever read the Da Vinci Code as a way of learning. It's entirely a work of fiction.

I have never heard that said to anyone, but if it was said it was probably said to start controversy. Which does not surprise me, raised Catholic, I have come to realize that Catholics and the Vatican and those who rule over it are the biggest "Hippocrates". Think about it..... they make rules for all to follow, yet they can't or won't follow them "themselves" they are above all the rest! I mean no disrespect, but they don't respect us, further more "how many commandments, that you can think of are they violating?"
I for one see " Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them (any other GODS) : for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God" yet they kiss and bow down to the "Pope", this is wrong, he is only a man like the rest of us.
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" technically "the hide the biggest community of "pedophiles" and do so in "plain sight".
