Many reasons .
Men are conditioned even today to not open up and show there emotions this is a survival skill honed by many thousands of years of evolution.
Man have opended up to women sometimes and the woman use it against them in the future.
Lastly a guy who naturaly (not being a player) is tight lipped about his emotions intrigues women .
And as one prior poster so eloquently put it . You have to earn that privaledge .

Boys don't want to be too close with girls.
And girls dont keep any thing as secret they share any thing with any body at any time.This makes boys very choose nature,so even never open up personal lives in friendship with especially with girls

Sometimes they think that girls are too aggressive. It scares them a little because they know they are different from girls. (Sometimes they are taught they are better than girls). It's always best to honor people's boundaries and give them space when they want it. No one should ask personal questions of other people. Respect!
