I stand outside with her but i do just stand there i have tried to walk around the yard but she just wont do anything. The only time she'll really walk around the yard is when my cat goes outside...

I have been usin the old technique of puttin her nose in it and lightly spanking her...but i dont think thats working

first off never tell it off if you dont catch it in the act of going to the toilet.
watch her closley and when she starts tall her NO and lift her up and put her out side.
also take her out mare often and when she does go out side make a big fuss of her

you could try crait training as she shouldnt poop in the cage (as long as its not to big) and will want to go as soom as you let her out.

The best advice is make sure you don't take her out and then when she pees, you bring her right back in. Then she won't go as soon as you take her out. She will play around with you and might not end up going out at all.

Also, take her out more frequently when she is a puppy. That way you can get an idea of her time schedule of pottying. Every dog is different.

Also, some people don't agree with this, but it's really a good method. Buy a carrier crate that is large enough for her to move around in and she will need to sleep in that at night. That way at night, she won't want to use the bathroom without making a fuss to wake you up and take her out because she'd learn that she has to be in there with it after she does it. This will force her to bark or do something to get your attention when she has to go to the bathroom.

It might be a good idea to give her a treat if she successfully goes potty outside. This is true for training her to sit, lay down, and her recall as well. The secret is a 100% for a week or so, 75% for about 2 weeks, 50% for a week, 25% for less or around a week, and then treats sparingly.

Make sure you find a good website about how to train your puppy properly. Doing a search on yahoo will probably lead you to some good and bad sites. Make sure you see what other people are doing and try accordingly. But remember again, every dog is different.

How long are you outside with her? And are you just standing there waiting. When you take her outside, walk around the yard with her. If she doesn't go, bring her back inside, but only let her run around the house if you are going to watch her. If you can't keep an eye on her, put her in her crate or another confined area. Then in about a half hour, try taking her out again. Consistency is the key! And when she does go outside, give her lots and lots of praise. When she is inside and uses the bathroom, unless you catch her in the act of doing her "business" do NOT scold her. She does not understand and that will only make her fearful of you.

This has worked for me with a couple of dogs I have had that were difficult - get some puppy pads or newspaper for her. When she doesn't use the paper in the house, scold her, but when she does, give her a small treat of some kind. Take one of the pads outside with you and put it in the grass. As she starts to go on the pad outside consistently, start taking her out without it. She is just confused by the feel of grass, and it is a lot like the feel of carpet to a dog. Since you scold her for going on the carpet, she thinks you are going to scold her for going on the grass.

Hope this helps. Some dogs are just easier to train than others.

If you have her paper trained, that would be a little easier. You can take her paper closer and closer to the door til eventually, she is outside. May take some time that way. Or, when she does pee inside, tell her bad dog with a stern voice then take her outside and let her be outside for about 10 min. You chould really take her out every 30 min or so to go potty. And when she finally does go potty outside, praise praise praise....

I have a 7 month old puppy and we broke him by watching every move he made and scolding him when he started to go and would take him directly out where he should finish 'his business'. When we are gone we put him in a crate. We've crated him since he was 4 months old and he never goes in his crate. He has very few accidents in the house now. Be very firm with your voice and don't be afraid to spank - it's the only way they learn. Great thing about dogs... they'll always love you no matter how mean you have to be!

Good luck :o)

You need a timetable and schedule especially 1st thing in the morning AFTER meals, AFTER nap and AFTER playtime. You also need to crate training her and dont let her playing around.
Make a schedule. Take her out every 3-4 hours from the crate and ask her to pee. If she refuse to go, bring her inside and wait for 5 minutes again. Dont let her wonder and lay in the grass because she will think you take her out for playing. Then again take her out. Lure her with treats until she does her business and she will get the idea eventually. Dont play/let her outside the crate before pee.
If she accidentially pee in the house, stern warning her by saying- bad dog!! Dont loose patient with her because she doesnt know her schedule. Start all over again til she knows her schedule well.
Goodluck.

She doesn't know what you want her to do. Take her outside every hour. If she does something, praise her. If you catch her squatting indoors, quickly take her outside, if she finishes outside what she started inside, praise her. Don't be tempted to punish her for doing it indoors, this may just cause her to fear doing it anywhere. This will result in her holding her bladder/bowel to long which will make her very ill. It takes a lot of time and patience, but if you make a big deal of praising her when she does it right, she'll eventually get the swing of it.

have u been taking her out every 2-3 hours or so...that will help her to go outside. also, let her outside 30mins-an hour after u feed her. the food stimulates her bowels so she will go to the bathroom. If you have wee wee pads bring those outside and put them n the spot where u want her to go to the bathroom. that should help. gradually wean her of the wee wee pads and she should go outside when she needs to go.

she won't know what your talking about if you put her nose in it and spank her. the deed is done and she won't make the connection between the two things. You need to catch her in the act and take her immediately outside and let her finish there. Once she goes there is no way to teach her. Hitting her, sticking her nose in it, and yelling at her don't help.

as with most of the responders on here, I think crate training is your best bet here , dogs will very rarely go where they lay , so putting her in the crate at night and then taking her out first thing in the morning will make things easy on you when you know she has to go , give plenty of praise when she does what you want , not just treats , some dogs are easier to train than others , but starting early is best , I will usually start mine as pups in a box by my bed at night and in the morn take them outsided as soon as i get up , also after feeding her put her in the crate for a half hour or so , most dogs will want to go shortly after feeding and this will narrow your window down for waiting on her . Remember that most dogs genuinely want to please you it is just a matter of making them understand what you want from them , rubbing their nose in it and all that usually does little good but to confuse the dog.
