In order to be a Christian we have to see ourselves as lost, Hell bound sinners in need of a saviour. We have all been saved by grace which means that we did nothing to earn it, it's a free gift.
To be first we must be last, to be anything we must be least.
How can this be a superiority complex?

I don't think we have a superiority complex. I'm sure you've met some self-professed Christians who DO, though. Nobody likes the self-righteous and there is a very fine line between being righteous (which is good) and self-righteous (which is bad). The apostle Paul talked about this one quite a lot.
Anyway, Christianity is for everyone, not just white people, and not just for Jews. Jesus was a semite, you know. He was born into the nation of Israel, after all.
Here's why Christians are righteous:
1. The entire Old Testament (history of the nation of Israel and their relationship with God the Father) was leading up to the arrival of the messiah.
2. The New Testament was the story of the fulfillment of God's promise. Jesus' birth, life, crucifixion and resurrection fulfilled every prophecy of the Old Testament.
3. Jesus proved his identity over and over again by healing the sick, curing the diseased and raising the dead. He, Himself was resurrected from the dead and was witnessed by hundreds of people before he ascended to heaven. Buddha didn't do that, Mohammed didn't do that, Hindus can't claim that. Jesus created a "New Covenant" between God and everyone on Earth.
Ya just gotta jump into the water. :)

Christians come in many colors and from many races. I don't know what Christians you are talking about that you believe have a "superiority complex." Unfortunately, there are people in any group that can behave in an arrogant manner, putting people off. I'm sorry if you've met Christians like this. Most of us do not behave that way. God bless!

This sounds more like a statement than a question. but I"ll try to explain it as I see it.
It all starts with the pope. This is a symbol of a system of government. A government that is supposed to supersede any " earthly " for of government from a Christians point of view.
Now, with the understanding that God will always love you and give you eternal life, regardless of your sins is like saying " Hey kid, go do what you want and you won't get into any trouble "
Second, christian are more media savvy (well, here in the US at least) They've learned how to point the cameras away from themselves and towards the next " great evil " Even in there own system, they can justify breaking a commandment. Remember the church kids getting molested by a preacher? Well, did the church send him to jail to protect the faithful? NO! They "forgave " him and sent him to another church so he could rape again...and again...and again...
The greatest down fall of the Christian faith is " Eternal Salvation " no matter how bad you are, you are forgiven. So go ahead and rape, pillage, murder, steal, curse and anything you want to do in this life. One quick prayer to Jesus, and you're going to heaven!
What they don't know, is that it doesn't work that way. (evil grin)

My good friend...
What you interpret as a "superiority complex" is simply a misunderstanding. We, as Christians, simply believe without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and that believing in him and following his teachings is the one and only way to get into Heaven. It is also part of his teachings that we witness to all those who are nonbelievers, in the hopes that they, too, can be saved.
If you ask a Muslim the same question, he/she would tell you their beliefs from their perspective. Do we Christians think they are wrong? -- That is irrelevant, as the Bible teaches us not to judge others...that is left for God to do.
Christianity, as many other religions, requires FAITH. Faith is the belief in something that cannot be proven. If we all knew for a FACT that our religion was the correct one, then everyone would belong to it, and we would all go to Heaven without judgement. But that would defeat God's purpose for us. We must believe in him without knowing for sure...that is FAITH. If our outward faith is stronger than that of other beliefs, then that should tell you a little something about how powerful Jesus' love for us is. It is His love that gives us strength.

I don't think I do, and none of the above. I honestly don't think I'm any better than anyone else put on this earth. I think all of us were "fearfully and wonderfully made" in God's image. That makes us ALL equal. But people make choices that have consequences, and we all have to live with that, knowing that none of us is perfect. Thankfully God also gave us ALL salvation through Jesus Christ, IF we choose to accept it.

Why do YOU have one? You are the one who just posted a question that makes a sweeping indictment of an entire religion, instead of asking why SOME Christians do these things.
I feel that in doing this, you have overestimated your intelligence and perception a bit, and that my friend is indicative of a superiority complex.

many may think " my religious belief system is the best and you must worship the way I do because I know what is best for you, too attitude. " these fanatical people give any religious belief system a bad name as no one has a right to interfere with another believing differently because of free will and freedom to worship as they please. there is a difference between informing and coercion.
