A friend of mine told me I'm selfish and I use people. I never saw myself as someone who is like that. Is he right?

Only you can answer a question like that.
If you truly believe you are not selfish and don't use people if your being completely honest with your self than no his wrong but if when your being completely honest with your self you have a doubt then maybe your friend see's something you don't.
You've just got to be the best person you can be and the type of person you want to be and if you're happy with you're self then who cares what others think!

No one here can answer that question, without first knowing you.
What you need to do is ask someone you know who you think will answer honestly. This isn't a black or white issue, and no one is selfish 100% of the time, or caring and giving 100% of the time, maybe you on average tend to come off as a bit selfish. It would be useful to know that about one's self.

Only you can live your live the way you want to, if you live your life for others and worrying about what other people think you will regret it when your older.
We are all selfish in a way as we do what it best for us.
do some soul searching on your own and think long and hard about what you really want out of life, this will help you get to know you. dont worry about others perceptions

Surely if you were that bad he wouldn't be a friend of yours. Don't beat yourself up. You are what you are and although you can change your behaviour if you feel you have treated others badly, as you get older you will care less and become more at ease with yourself and will not be bothered about other people's perception of you. You can't please everyone and you will not be liked by everyone.

I got to know myself at an early age and i too have, on occations, been told i am selfish. Not a problem for me though, as i dont give a rats a$s what others think!
You only get one life so live it !

communication and understanding. That's what I figured out so
far. If you are down, you need to get up and start doing something with
your life. Don't need to be shy, be straight forward and allways say what
you want and expect from the others.

Only you can answer that now. You can decide if your friend was clueing you in on something you didn't notice about yourself before (sometimes it does take someone on the outside to bring things to our attention) or if your friend is jealous or venting or whatever.
