I would say about 100.00 to 200.00 usd a month depending on circumstances. Is she working? Are you financially strapped and need the money to pay the rent? Does she pay for all of her other personal stuff? I charged our 19 year old foster daughter 250.00 cause I provided everything for her from personal hygene products to food to clothing as well as internet and personal phone.

first of all how well do you know the young man with his age and all i would be leary second is he a relative and third if you do have a very expensive house then i would deffinatly ask a third of the total expenses and aggree on a set amount dont jack it up later or if u do sit down and show him a bill or two from today versus down the road to better explain why you need to ask for more but only a third of the increase thats only fare

Depends on how much a 19 year old earns. I had to pay my parents £40 per week, and that was 10 years ago

I think you should decide on a % of whatever they earn etc so that they've money for other things also. I suppose it depends on whether the person is a close relative or friend you want to help out or just a financial proposition.

That depends, I assume he's working?

From the age of 18 when i started in full time work my mum charged me £50 a week and i thought that was fair. i mean it was my room and board, food, electricity and everything else. it was a little steeper than most of my friends but i didn't mind.

I later found out that mum use to put the money to one side in case of emergencies ie cars having expensive repairs etc...and use to help out when she could using the money i'd given her.

What kind of income does he have coming in? What does it cost you each month? Say if there are 4 people in your home, divide the months costs by 4.
If your feeding him, add alittle more to your request, sence he may eat you out of house and home.

if they work i'd ask for the total of one pay check a month, then take half of that and putin a saving for them so that when they get ready to move out, you can give them that money you have saved so they can get a start on there own.
