My ex has been for more than 12 years now, and although we are actually talking as "friends" I do not wish him back in my life full-time ever again. My marriage to him for 20 years cured me. Take stock of what you want in your life. I appears he has, and found out he needed to move on, either for your growth or his. You are very young to be clinging to someone who hasn't had the sense to develop completely yet. Women are usually ahead of the male curve in developing. Your perfect man may be out there in college, getting himself groomed and ready for you, and you haven't even tried to step up and find him.
It actually does take a long time to get past the lost relationship, the hurt and feeling of betrayal. Love him for what he was in your life, and pull yourself back up onto your feet. Contrary to the male idea about us women, we are not always weepy and weak. After all, who has, raises and provides for a vast number of children in this country ALL ON OUR OWN? Only us gals. Because we are STRONG.

He is still young and he still needs time to get more experienced in love, more mature. Give him time and space. If you are meant to be together you will.
Girls are normally more mature in the emotional side, so give him a chance. Sooner or later he is going to miss being in a relationship and you just make sure your close when that happens.

While you waiting, keep your options open because he may be the one right now but there are great guys out there you might just find your great love .

Hope it all works out, good luck

guys are nice for the first time, but when u get to know them they are so stupid out of sense, but as u say u still love him, i would pick the phone up and call him and says i would love to be ur friend and maybe later on u guys can fix things up and little by little u can get back, without knowing it...peace and goodluck.

Being friends is ok. Just don't let it be friends "with benefits." Never look back on a relationship, move on.
