you just can't seem to let it go fully, cos u really don't want to,but u have to.my vise is pot.i comprimsed down to $20 a week,so i only smoke now on the weekend.I can see black and white that it is no good for me at all,and may well lead or contribute to my demise, through bad health espesially breathing problems, yet the tranquil feeling outweighs the risk, coz it dont matter as long as it doesnt cost u financially..

I know. I am the same way with booze. It's hard. I wish I could help, you sound just like me. The one thing that I can say, is that no matter what anyone tells you, It's better to modify a bad behavior than to just let it go.

I suspect that we are not the minority. In my humble opinion everyone has their weakness or escape. You made a good step in the right direction by cutting to weekends. Set some goals and put them down on paper. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders; so remaining a light user may not be so bad for you. I'm not trying to justify, or encourage your use but I think many people overlook the benefit. That tranquility is good for you and may offset some of the negatives. I'm not that familiar with pot or the devices used to smoke it but maybe a different compromise would be using in a different way to minimize breathing issues. Say brownies? Maybe make a blunt using an emptied cigarette with filter. However, if you feel it will lead to your demise then I would try to stop altogether. Ask someone who cares about you and can look objectively because if you think it will contribute to your demise-- you are probably not only right but your friends (straight ones) and loved ones probably notice more than you do. Peace.

i think everyone in this world has a vice. you can have good intentions all you want, its actions that speak louder. i think it is risky for the fact that it is illegal, besides that don't be so hard on yourself. alcohol is legal but it kills people i am not a big legalize weed person by any means. anything that produces a euphoria a person might abuse. ask yourself why do i have to escape reality? what is the underlying issue? if you find that out you might nick the problem in the butt and not want to smoke to cover up your feelings. if you are just stressed out and you feel that is your only way of coping and handling life then there is programs like twelve steps and so forth. good luck you know what you need to do

Mark....Mark....Mark...
I will honestly answer you. Although I hate to be honest, however The truth is that addicts don't tend to fully grasp the concept until they are falling and/or have fallen hard. You I'm sorry to tell ya truly do not know the depth of dangers. I PROMISE YOU...IT IS FAR FROM BEING SIMPLY BLACK AND WHITE...
Anyhow...If you do know...well...join the millions of other addicts who also know yet believe they are now destined to be addicts for the rest of they're lives. You see Mark, nobody that quits an addiction does it because they want to...THEY KNOW AND LEARN THEY HAVE TO...and even still this quitting won't happen unless they are forced to quit by only themselves...not anyone else can force them.
Try to learn of yourself about yourself and accept even what you aren't proud of. WHY? because its simple Mark, You are who you are. and if you can not accept things of yourself and for yourself ...well...then how the hell can anyone else?

Time Tells All Truths....
Good luck and God Bless

You already know that the drug use is bad for you, unethical, and illegal, cutting down is beside the point. Some things you just don't do.

I'm the same way with eating, I just wish I could stop eating period.

It's not like I over eat, but I would just like to go months without feeling the need to eat.

I just can't let it go, and I'm so serious.
