I'm Southern and I've never seen or known anybody to eat fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

I'm from Canada and I eat penut butter,banana and mayo sandwiches,although I do not fry them.

At the Texas state fair, it is tradition to come up with deep fried stuff each year. We have had Twinkies, Oreo cookies, marshmellows, anything you can deep fry gets put in the fryer come fair time.

This was one of Elvis' favorite foods, so I think it became famous as a southern food because of him. There are restaurants around the south that have this on their menu.
