I think it's more that it is omitted than sanctioned, bearing in mind that the gospels were written in an era where it was believed that women had no interest in sex. It is interesting to note that the homosexuality act which was overthrown in the 1980's in the UK also made no note of lesbianism, this was because at the time it was originally drafted it was believed that no woman would do such a thing - the original law was sanctioned by (I believe) Queen Victoria, who considered that women would not commit such an act anyway and did not consider it warranted mention in the act as a result. Before I get flamed on this, those were the views at the time, and although I am a straight female I am firmly of the opinion "to each their own" and am in no way homophobic.

The bible was written by upper-class men in the 6/7th centuaries so simply reflects their opinions. So, yes, it is sexist, racist, homophobic and a whole host of other discriminatory descriptions.

I've looked into this, and to be honest, I don't think it's a hatred of things homosexual, I think it's more to do with the spilling of seed! Check out Onan in the Old Testament. He shot his bolt on a stone I think and it says "it's better to waste it in the belly of a harlot than to do stuff like that. So basically it's about the emmission rather than the act in my view. As women don't pop out eggs when they do their lady love we're exempt from this.

The Bible holds many contradictions - What do you expect? It was written by Man. It has very little to do with the real God.

It's the bible, keep reading. You'll never stop asking questions about how confused you are. At least you're reading it and hopefully you'll come up with your own beliefs or thoughts in the end. Facelessa... can kiss my @ss...

when you suggest something is written in the bible it is usual to quote pages etc because if you don't then readers will think you are making it up.

god loves girl-on-girl action.

that's one good thing going for him.

& before anyone says it, the Romans quote has always historically been interpreted that the "natural purpose" or "natural use" spoken about has to do with women not wanting to have children. Lesbians most cetainly can have children.

so don't re-re-re-interpret your bible, because you loose credibility with each reinterpretation
