Thats pretty closed minded. Didnt we come over a rape the native americans?

The borders shouldnt be a free for all, but a level of immigration is desireable. Maybe your one polish friend is a perve? Most polish people i have met have all been decent human beings.

Also they say that illegal immigrants are takeing our jobs, but do you really want to pick fruit in 90 degree weather for $5.00 an hour? Will we be happy when fruit is $20.00 a pound, but at least we have the job?

No. You can never control the ammount of illegals unless you stop letting anyone into a country which would in turn screw up vital sections of economy. That's a different issue.

Legal immigration isn't out of control at all. There isn't an open door policy as many would have you believe and the only problem is that the indigenous population don't like the changes they are seeing in their communities, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Asylum seekers are a different issue all together. People complain that asylum seekers are scrounging benefits, however, an asylum seeker is not allowed to work in Britain, and in some cases are not allowed to handle British currency and are given tokens instead. And many ARE sent back to their country's of origin if it is declared safe to do so. I don't know the exact figures, but it is something like 8 out of 10 asylum seekers are not given permission to stay.

It is very disconcerting and I would agree, worrying, that so many "foreigners" seem to be living among us, but in the year 2006, that is the price you pay for living in an advanced country.

A bed sit is an English phrase, isn't it? I've been reading some novels that take place in England and I have seen those words in there. When you say you live in East Anglia, is that part of London? I'm just curious, no need to respond if you'd rather not.
Here in the States there are a lot of immigrants. Let's face it, our country wouldn't even exist if people hadn't come from somewhere else. Even American Indians came across a land bridge.
Here there are prejudices against certain illegal immigrants: Hispanic people. I think it's very UNFAIR to be prejudiced against a certain group of people.
About the person who had pictures of young girls in short skirts, I think it's disgusting and unfortunately there are PERVS all over the world.

Good on the person who had the guts to ask the question in the first place! I don't know any one who isn't sick of the immigrants. If only genuine cases were allowed in, and they were commited to working and living the english way, then fine. However, what most people are fed up to the back teeth with are the ones who just want easy handouts from the government, a nice car, a nice house, and if that wasn't enough, they then have the gall to insult our country and it's ways and get them stopped or changed! They are excluding themselves from society by not intergrating - they have their own communities, they have their own churches built and then mock ours or our beliefs. To cap it all off, we can't even express our anger with the way that our country has gone down the pan in this respect as we are labeled racist! Diversity does not work. We have lost our identity in this country. I am surprised that we are still allowed to fly our flag. How long before we lose that as well? The english have no rights any more in their own country. We are at the bottom of the pile now and are classed as the minority. I am not a member of any organisation that promotes racism or such kind, but I need to let off steam. I have had enough. When the politicians start the first Save Britian Party, I think they will get in, no problem! This is England. Keep it as such or go elsewhere. Is that not fair?

Where do you live? That will have a direct affect on the answer. No matter what racists may say, immigration in the USA is perfectly legitimate if done according to law. That is the key...ACCORDING TO LAW. Illegal immigration is a crime and crimes should be stopped in any country and at all times. At some point any family or person who moves to another country has to assimilate to some degree. My grandparents immigrated to America from Italy. They learned to speak English, worked hard, and paid taxes. They were no different that the other groups that came here from other countries at different periods.

It has been demonstrated through the years that the second generation of families that have immigrated tend to speak English as a first language, work, pay taxes, vote, raise families, and are able to retain their heritage.

Don't fall into the trap of blaming the immigrants where ever they come from. This is a deliberate policy planned by the government to make Britain a cheap labour economy. It is the old trick of divide and rule and was started back in 1955 when thousands of Jamaicans were invited into the country simply because the government and employers would not pay decent wages so they were brought in to be exploited. The minister for health at that time was the late Enoch Powell the man who made the rivers of blood speech and yet permitted the immigrant nurses to work for low pay. Nothing changes, the minimum wage is now accepted as the national rate and we are the laughing stock of Europe for putting up with it.

there is a difference between economic migrants from EU countries and asylum seekers. the uk has no control over the flow of migrants from EU countries in the same way that Poland has no control over western europeans buying houses in their country and jacking prices up so working class Poles can't afford to live there. Why wouldn't you come to a country that will provide you and your family with a better standard of living, if the roles were reversed there would be a lot of British people in Warsaw. The failing is with the EU not waiting for the new EU countries to come up to a similar standard of living before relaxing border contols. There is an argument for restricting asylum claims in the Uk because other EU countries do not take their fair share of asylum claims and are only too glad to allow people to travel through their country to get to the UK. Also the housing argument isn't true, by and large migrants and asylum seekers end up being stuck in accomodation which the council have been unable to let to UK citizens as they are substandard. In Glasgow where i am from this has created "ghettos" in the city which creates fear and suspicion of foreigners, which wasn't caused by anything they have done.

It's totally out of control but believe me its not only In the UK.
I'm Irish but have lived abroad for many years, I now go home to Ireland and see more and more strangers which I find very disturbing.
I am not racist but I do believe that when we allow people into our country they must also have something to offer us.
In general they want to take benefits and free housing when people who live in their own country have to work hard for what they have.
These people enter our country with their large families because life in their own country is too difficult but if these people are so poor why then do they have such large families.??
I say immigration tolerance zero!!
I do not want to see my country turn into France or Britain where the true citizens are being treated as racists because they want to preserve their country

Immigration is not out of control, our government are the ones that are out of control, not only in England but in the USA, too.
think that the leaders of our Nations are not thinking about their citizen, but about the world. II think that there is a secret plan about world order that they are not telling us. Maybe this is the reason why that the citizen of our countries are becoming second or third. Nationality is becoming out of the question, in 10 or 20 yrs the Anglo-Saxon in England is going to be a minority. What a shame that you all loose your country because of incompetence of your government. Good luck

It is not that simplistic. You are looking at the negative side only.
High rise buildings are widespread worldwide to cope with the increase in populations. Rapists are of every origine and nationality. It may be growing out of control but you are hitting on the wrong root. What of the system?????
