In the beginning, when all there was to listen to were 'priests' etc, the human animal was easily bamboozled into thinking that we were/are something special in comparison to a blade of grass......... in effect everything around was built for humans to use and abuse.
Of course as humans became more intelligent - and more importantly as humans became better educated as a whole - the whole structure of thinking became flawed and so the religious persons then had to try to find 'workarounds' in the old texts to try to do battle against scientific FACT.
Unfortunately education has not reached all people yet, so religion is a dying breed, but its not quite dead yet.
Thats why education is so feared by the established churches. its going to do them out of a lucrative jolly. !

I am sure all religions prescribe kindness to animals and nature, Islam is no different.
Prophet Muhammad told of a prostitute who on a hot summer day saw a thirsty dog hovering around a well, lolling his tongue. She lowered her socks down the well and watered the dog. Allah forgave all her sins (for this one act of kindness).
If the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) saw any animal over-burdened or ill-fed he would pull up alongside the owner and say, "Fear Allah in your treatment of animals." (Abu Dawud, Kitab Jihad)
" If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the sparrow will cry out on the Day of Judgment, "O Lord! That person killed me in vain! He did not kill me for any useful purpose." (Nisai)
“There is no animal that lives on the Earth, nor a being that flies on its wings but forms part of communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end. (Quran 6:38)
“Whoever is kind to the creatures of God, is kind to himself” – Prophet Mohammad
God's Messenger(s) was reported as saying: 'Allah Who is Blessed and Exalted, has prescribed benevolence toward everything {and has ordained that everything be done in a good way}; so, when you must kill a living being, do it in the best manner and, when you slaughter an animal, you should {use the best method and} sharpen your knife so as to cause the animal as little pain as possible.
The Holy Prophet(s) said to a man who was sharpening his knife in the presence of the animal: 'Do you intend inflicting death on the animal twice - once by sharpening the knife within its sight, and once by cutting its throat?' (Al-Furu Min-al-Kafi Lil-Kulini; 6:230).

Its in the Bible, once in Old Testament/Torah so Jewish also, definitely in the teachings of the Buddha (though not to gain favor with God since they don't believe in him) and Hinduism because of reincarnation. I don't think Muslims care about that stuff though, don't remember seeing it in the Koran. It seems the newer a religion is, the more it gets away from that system of thought.

Jesus asked, "Which among you would not rescue your lamb that fell in a hole on the Sabbath day?" He seems to assume people love their animals and want to and should take good care of them. Also, it was not the animals that sinned in the garden of Edan, causing Man's fall, but it was Adam and Eve, the humans. Solomon says animals don't go to heaven or hell but when they die that's the end of them. If so, there are no animals in hell, so if you see any animals you are not in hell.

i dont know but as for me i am a Nickist (yea that is my own personal religion with rules created by me and no1 else is in it because no1 esle believes the same stuff as me yet and i need a better name for it anyway) but in Nickism we[I] believe that animals are yummy food, hwat keeps balance, or good companions and that you shouldnt hunt unless you plan to eat it afterwords. animals help keep nature in balance and without them we wouls be utterly fu*ked. i love trees so Nickists love trees if we diditn have them our oxygen supply would depleate and our world would be bland same with all bushes. i dont on the otherhand think that non native species should be introduced in to an area where they are........ well..... not native. because that is a bad thing. like mongoose for example thye haveno natrual preditors in north america so if one got loose it could just kill local wildlife rampently and have no fear of being attacked because it is much more fierce than anything it would encounter. and these are the beliefs of Nickism on nature in a nutshell thanx for listening

The Book of Job says,
"Ask the Earth and it will teach you,
and the birds of the air and they will teach you,
and the fishes of the sea will declare it unto you!"
It also says somewhere that ALL Creation worshipped God.
But people will beleive what they want.

Of course it does. If you believe in God, then you most likely believe he created everything on earth, including the animals. He will surly look with favor upon anyone who extends care to all of his creatures.

Hinduism is the only religion which tells us to respect/worship animals and plants for the benefits they give to humanity.
Hindus worship cows (for milk & farmwork), worship plants, rivers and mountains..
and we are mocked at for this...by those stupids who have no knowledge of the unity of the Universe into one Soul

My religion maybe the only one that says...you must not prepare any animal for consumption as the one lord has created them as he creates the human beings.
"Whoever is kind to the creatures of God, is kind to himself” – Prophet Mohammad
Sorry but i think thats bullshit considering muslims kill animals in the name of Allah (halal) and consume the animals though being cruel and injustice to animals.
So in effect Muslims really are not being kind to the animals, how would they like it if one of their family members were killed and consumed in the name of "Allah".
Not to forget most Christians/Catholic and many other people doe eat meat of animals, though being cruel to them.
