Malnutrition, mastitits.etc
Get her to the vet. and after she's done nursing...NEVER BREED HER AGAIN. you are not an experienced knowledgable breeder and have NO BUSINESS breeding your dog. Get her Spayed as soon as the vet says it's ok. Has the vet even checked out the puppies and the mother at all?

Some animals are like some people and have no clue when it comes to having offspring. I have had dogs that would mother anything and some that have puppies and walk away without looking back. She might be stressed or nervous which would stop her being able to let her milk down or she might feel overwhelmed if she had a big litter. Or perhaps she just isnt emotionally able to take care of them. There are a number of reasons why..including way too much human intervention. Another reason could be if the puppies were not normal in some way...she would probably abandon them.

Do you know for a fact she hasn't enough milk? Some do, even though it doesn't look like it.
If she just gave birth recently, it may take a few days for the milk to come in more.
IF it is a lack of milk, maybe she wasn't on a good diet during her pregnancy.
If the pups look like their not being fed and seem to be less active, go see your vet.

I could suggest a number of things, not enough fluids, malnutrition, stress, mastisis(infection of the milk ducts) or she may just not be a great milk producer. To find out for sure I'd go to a vet, you'll likely need to get puppy formula from them anyway if the problem is persistant.

Sometimes it can be stress. I would also look into what you are feeding her. Nursing mothers (of all creatures) need extra nutrition to produce plenty of milk and stay healthy.
If this continues too long consider one of two things, bottle feeding some of the babies, especially the smaller ones or getting your lab to the vet to check for other health problems. I would hope the change of diet to something with even more nutrition that she is normally eating and reduced stress might help.
Good luck~

In cases like this it is hard to give a good answer because you Don't say how many she has. The advise I have is to make sour that your dog is getting enough to eat. The other thing I can say is that you should ask your vet on what else you can do.

she is still young and wants to play, not raise puppys. Some bitches never produce enough milk and hormones have a lot to do with it. Next time out you will get more puppys than tit's then what will you do? Labs are like that.
