I saw the movie and read the series. I would definately not recomend it for anyone under 14. It deals with child murder, killers, prison(death row), and numerous other adult content. it would probably give kids nightmares. It is definately for mature audiences. It shows a man being put to death. Not a good idea for a family movie night.

I saw the movie and loved it. Stephen King stories are for adults. Wikepedia doesn't give the rating for Green Mile but I'd say its probably rated PG-13.

Yes, definitely an older audience. It has adult themes and pretty graphic violence.
