They are a good source of fiber. Just make sure you clean the fruit well.

One thing, though - there are two kinds of fiber - soluble and insoluble. If you're looking for fiber for digestive problems, you'll do better with adding soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber is the tough stuff that's found in fruit peels, bean skins, leafy greens, etc. Soluble fiber is the stuff on the inside of the fruit, beans, and in fiber supplements like metamucil. They're both good for you in their own way, but the insoluble fiber sometimes irritates a sensitive digestive system. The best website if you're interested in that info is www.helpforibs.com, which is a site about irritable bowel syndrome, but the info on fiber is true for anyone.

It is quite alright to eat the peel off the fruit as long as You wash it first then grate it very fine then sprinkle it on top of the drink.

why would you want to, get your fibre some other way like from nuts..brown rice and such like
