First there is no assertion that God is in control, otherwise there can be no free will. God's control goes only so far. God may decide on the day you were conceived what the date of your death shall be, no man can extend that. Man cannot go up against the will of God, doctors know this when they do heart surgery.
If God is in control then God is responsible for your temple!
The maximum amount of control is God has a plan and God or the angeles will nudge you, but following that nudge, realizing what it means and going in that direction is up to you.
God or the angeles may nudge you in a direction to find a job, a career or a wife. You choose, from free will, to go into another direction and you lose out on that and may never have a good job, nice career or stable wife.
You chose your way instead of the direction you were pointed in.
You live with it.
Free will.
You chose to follow the gudience of God in all things or do whatever you want.
The choice is yours, unless you were predestined by God for something extreme. You know, maybe Hitler or Charlie Manson was predesinted. We can't know for sure.
The average Joe is not so steadfastly predestined. You have an infinite number of directions to walk and the angeles watch over you for some reason and stand in your way, hold out a helping hand or sometimes let you fall on your face.
You get what you need. Chose not to see what is put in front of you, that's your shortcoming!

In the first place, you will eventually die. Nobody in their right mind is in a hurry to go. Life is precious and we cling to it when the end comes. God is in control....then he controls science and any attempts at longevity. We are only going to be here as long as he lets us be. No matter what science or doctors do, when it is over ....it is over. Make the best of the life you are given, be it long or short.

God is in control but he leaves much up to us. As one person noted God doesn't seem to take seem to take near as many of them when they follow safety instructions. This comment was being applied when someone suggested God took someone who had actually violated a company safety procedure, but the same principle occurs. Eat healthy and try not to take unnecessary risks and if science can help extend life I'm sure God won't hold it against you.

Are you implying that it is a sinful act to maintain your health and longevity through medicinal ways?
If so, I don't know what your reasoning is.
The bible says that if we are strong in the Lord we shall live a long and full life, take Moses for example.

If you are a xian, even taking antibiotics is "playing god". What's the difference between 2 extra years and 200 extra years?
