I had an ex-wife like that. After the 6th or 7th time of that I finally got past being guilt tripped and wised up.
I expect you should wise up much faster than I did. Each time an ex does this, they waste time you could have applied finding someone worth while - and on the chance you don't, you still rob yourself of a chance finding worthwhile things to do.
Don't let this clod of a man waste your life. Just my two cents worth based on experience with a woman. Neither sex has a monopoly on using people..., and the Used, do not deserve it.
There is pain and the guilt always wondering if it was somehow you at fault. Chances are it has nothing to do with you, but this guy's inability to get his own life straightened out and I'd lay odds that he ignores helpful advice.

Been there, done that. With my ex of 4 years. Left me, came back, charmed me, and left again. It's part of life. It hurts and you can't pretend like it doesn't, but in the end it happened because you just weren't supposed to be together and what you learn from that makes you less vulnerable and stronger in your next relationship. Time really does heal all wounds. You just gotta move on.

An old flame tried to come back into my life after leaving for a few months. I found out he was with another lady while he was gone. He told me he was sorry and it wouldn't happen again. I told him, " I know you're sorry and it sure wont happen again, not with me." So I told the jerk good bye.

i would feel disappointed if they left again its like they cant make up their minds but it should be simple really do they want to be with you or do they not want to be with you? if they really did.know deep down in their souls and their heart the answer should be obvious and they shouldnt have to keep playing these games but maybe it takes them to mess up so bad to have them fall and you not being able to catch them to actually make them realize alot
