There is a fertilizer (milorganite) that originates as human waste. It is perfectly safe, as the finished product used for fertilizer is actually the dead bodies of the bugs that eat the human waste during manufacture, human waste is not actually the finished product. This product when applied helps activate the production of good bacteria in the soil when applied. It is also healthy for the environment and does not burn grass if overapplied. If used on flower beds the high iron content it will produce more vibrant colours in the flowers.
