I'm a procrastinator, but when I know a thing really has to be done, I keep pecking at it until I get it done. So I guess persistence substitutes for promptness. That is, I start a project, lose interest, put it down, and then go back to it . . . or not. If it needs to be done, I go back to it as the pressure for having it done increases. But beware the project with no deadline: it will hang out until it is no longer relevant, then be abandoned. That's a waste of energy and resources.

Now about that dress I started last January . . .

each day do something that way you don't tire yourself;f out and you don't procrastinate. For example in an essay write the first draft Mon, type it on Tues and read it out loud on Wed. after that print it out and turn it Thurs. and if its not due until Fri. or Mon.of next week then you have 2 xtra days AND the weekend!! Now this works for everything too, your room, you projects, your homework, the "RULE" is to do a little each day to get it somewhat done, BUT if you can get more done than what you have already done than Do IT! it better in the long
run, since sometimes teachers give extra assignments aside from the essay. Also if it helps design an hour or two to a subject you are struggling with it really helps! Well I hope my advice helped and get yourself organized!! lol =)

Perhaps you like the excitement, the crunch time! Is it exhilarating for you? Do you do your best work under the pressure of failure?

The only way to do it earlier, is, well, trite as it seems, sit down and do it. Keep away from all distractions....make sure you have everything at hand you need to get the assignment done. Make a task sheet, listing in order that which needs attention first. Have small rewards at the end of let's say the 4th task. Although, be forewarned...your subconscious is MUCH smarter and more devious than you are.

I am the queen of procrastination. Though, if it really, REALLY is important, I have the satisfaction of completion egging me on. I still have that subconscious self prodding me to look outdoors or turn on the tv to find a movie. ......sigh...the battle is constant.

Good luck!

I wish I had those answers myself. I have found though, that the more I sit there and think about doing something, the harder it is. If I stop thinking about it and just do it, it never turns out to be so bad. But getting up is the hard part.

Sometimes I promise myself special treats for doing certain tasks, especially those that I hate doing. So, if I get up and mop the floor and vacuum the carpet, I will allow myself a nice luxurios bath...or another fine treat. This actually works sometimes.

Good luck.
