Use a vinegar solution or a pet neutralizer from a store like PetCo. Vinegar and water...will NEUTRALIZE the smell..but you have to first soak up as much urine as possible..then spray the area until soaked w/vinegar and water. You can absorb again w/a d ry cloth, and repeat the process until the smell is gone. The vinegar smell won't be that great..but it will neutralize the urine. your goal is to get as much urine out of the carpet first..and then use the spray and try to pick more out of the carpet by soaking the area and reabsorbing to pull more urine out. Then last but not least, of course is that hopefully by this point most of the actual urine is gone, except the smell. And this has to be soaked w/the vinegar solt and left to dry, at which point the area should be neutralized. Never EVER use ammonia based products unless you want to encourage your pet to continue urinating there..or anywhere else in the house.

We had the same problem. We couldnt get the smell out enough for the dog to not smell it. We ended up pulling carpet in the room and putting down hard wood floors so it would be easier to clean. Kinda drastic measure, but it worked! There are items on the market though to eliminate the odor.

You can steam clean your carpet. Then use a special Odder control powder sprinkle a little on carpet leave for a few minuets. Then vacuum it up. When you see your puppy going pee on the carpet grab it and put it on a puppy traning pad, but if it pees on carpet rub its nose it the pee and then put on traning pad or put outside.

Generously pour baking soda over it and let it sit for a few days, then vacuum up. My sister had this problem with dog urine in her bedroom carpet. Nothing worked, not even a professional cleaning.
Baking soda did the job! It's great! Good luck!

Clean it well. After it dries sprinkle with baking soda. If still a problem, an air purifier that works extremely well for bad odors is the BreezeAT by EcoQuest but they are expensive - $350 or so. They also work well on removing smoke.

Arm and Hammer makes this foaming pet spray stuff. It's near the carpet cleaning stuff. You spray it on and don't even have to rub it in. You can also try renting a steam cleaner, that always works
