if you cut sugary foods out, eat fruits vegetables and lean meats, 10 pound in a month will be very easy to do. Its not so much the calories as it is what the calories are from.

To lose weight in a healthy manner, you should really strive to lose no more than 2 lbs. a week. Research has shown that slow, steady weight loss is not only the best way to keep the weight off long term, but it's also less stressful on your body and how you handle the stress of trying to take the weight off.

1,000 calories a day is a pretty low number. About 1,200 calories a day (minimum) is a safer number to strive for. If you make the daily number of calories too low, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

The less calories does not equal more weight lost.

You should have started a long time ago.

Sorry, but it's true.

Excersise a lot, (But NOT excessive), eat healthy foods. MORE OF THEM IS BETTER. I advise you to eat MORE than 1,000 calories a day...that way you have more stamena during your workouts.

Remember...You need to BURN more calories than you take in if you want to lose any weight at all.

So eat about 1,500 and burn about 2,500.
Don't eat after 7 p.m.
LOTS of water.
And eat a lot of little meals throughout the day, rather than 3 big ones.
While preparing food, chew a stick of gum...it prevents nibbling.

You'll get there! Don't worry.

Good Luck!

Like other people have said, you NEED to eat at least 1200 calories a day, or else your body will not burn the calories that you do eat. It will store them because it's not getting enough, and you won't lose the weight.
Eat 1200 calories a day and get some exercise,

Ok, first off, only eating 1000 calories a day is NOT HEALTHY. You need to eat at least 1200 calories a day. I wouldn't expect to lose 10 lbs in a month, unless you exercise every day for at least an hour. ***** If you're cutting calories that drastically, make sure to take a multi-vitamin to make sure you get the nutrients you need.

You have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound of weight. If you cut calories without exercise, your body often goes into a conservative mode and burns fewer calories (lower metabolism) which defeats the purpose of dieting. If you cut calories and exercise daily, you will burn more calories. Exercise boosts the metabolism and burns calories at the same time. Running five miles at a relatively fast pace can burn up to 1500 calories. You should be able to calculate your weight loss from there.

Sweetie, you need to eat at least 1200 per day to survive. Keep in mind that food is what gives your organs fuel to work properly. Most experts agree that losing 1-2 lbs per week is good. More than that and you may have a tendency to gain it back and more. Eat three sensible meals and have two small snacks a day, and don't forgot the 64oz of water too. hugs

The amount of calories that your body needs to stay healthy depends on your age, height, weight, etc.
So with that in mind, having 1000 calories a day might not be the best thing for you.
