It's a wonderful vegetable. The difference between fruit and vegetable is a little obscure to me. I go by what the grocer says, although I've been told a million times a tomato is a fruit and not a vegetable.

Squash isn't a fruit, it is a member of the gourd family...as is the pumpkin.

vegtable defiantly, i make a lovely risotto with onions , butternut squash and prawns, I'm sure if you don't like prawns, you can substitute chicken you also need risotto rice, but it's a meal you must eat at once, it doesn't travel well.

i d say it s a veg and same kind of family as pumpkins... but who cares really ? whatever they are, they re lovely anyway!!!!
