can you get hold of mangosteen fruit. if so, dry the fruit rind (when you open the fruit it is usally cut into to halves), then boil half with a glass of water, then drink the like brew - tastes like tea but don't add anything to it. Repeat the process every 4 - 5 hours. 100% it will work. This is a local remedy, been used for generations here in southeast asia and still being used today.

You can speed up the drying by placing the rind in an oven at low temp but sun drying is the best.

BTW, you can find the fruit in supermarts as the U.S. imports a lot of them.

The extrat of this fruit rind is the main ingredient of many anti-diarreah medicines.

diarreah for 6 months is not good. They need to see their doctor ASAP. The meds should also be changed and discussed with the doctor. If a medicine gives you diarreah then you need to call your doctor within the next few days not 6 months later.

Sounds like he may have leaky bowl syndrome. His diet needs to be changed to include things that his body absorbs properly. Good fiber and diet is likely the best cure though not a quick one. Most medications only mask a problema and do not cure it. His body is outta whack and could use a good detoxification kit. It will be unpleasant at first with increased bowel problems, sometimes rash, and other "adverse reactions" that are simply the body getting rid of toxins every way that it can.

By now, it's a moot point. However, Wakefield's Blackberry Balsam is good, some cheeses work well, and Pepto Bismol works sometimes.

Follow the BRAT diet.

Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast

This is the diet that pediatricians ask mothers to give small children who have diarrhea.
