Try this : stand on one foot and look at the muscles in your foot. As you try to maintain your balance, you are continuously making fine adjustments.
Balance cannot be ATTAINED, but it can be MAINTAINED.
Now you want to ask "How does one FIND balance in one's life?"
But that is a question only the individual can answer and the answer that makes us all individuals.
OK, philosophy asside, I challenge myself at work to achieve goals each day. Then work itself becomes a game to be won or lost. Thereby turning work time into play time.

It has to do more with your outlook and goals than anything external. External influences may be driving your dissatisfaction but how you feel about it is all in your control.
In my own case, I traded quality of life over high pay. The company could not pay me enough for the trade off that they were expecting. I had pleaded my case with the company on many occasions to no avail. So I found employment elsewhere. I took a lower income but was certain that the expectations placed on me by the company were suitable to my lifestyle.
What was important to me was balancing work and family. In a company that put 24/7 demands on me and 60 to 80 hour work weeks, I had no time for my family and ended up feeling like a walking paycheck. My kids were developing the psychology of a single parent family and were heading for trouble.
It was not an easy transition but in the long term my family has benefited greatly by having me available to them. I can afford fewer material things but have learned what's more important. I downsized my life but the benefits have better returns.

I completely understand where you're at. Is it possible to scale back at work (if you are staying late, choose at least 1 or 2 nights where you have to leave on time, or close to on time)? If not, ask what you can do while at work to feel better, more balanced and less stressed. Can you listen to relaxing music? Take a break mid-day and go for a 10 minute walk outside? Personally, I find keeping a yoga mat and relaxing music in my office helpful. Taking breaks is key.
Good luck!

are not those all diverse colors of an identical shade of philosophical undertaking, the pursuit of happiness? yet to stay in the physique of the question i'm a creature that seeks stability the main, when I even have it the different 2 issues you record come for sure. For me stability isn't a element that exists as 2 opposing ends of a scale, extremely it rather is the pursuit of a unique heading as I navigate the three dimensional international of area and the countless instructions of the recommendations. it rather is a objective I by no potential posses for long whilst it rather is attained even nonetheless it rather is continually my motivation. Perfection isn't mine to ask, basically my Christ has that, that refiner's fireplace would not discover lots left of this corrupt vessel whilst it became into by with me, genuine perfection present basically because of the fact the all seeing eye of God. Completeness is wonderful until eventually it mires me in a pretend sense of social order that would not ultimately serve the steadiness. Why I look for the steadiness nonetheless it rather is a grain of sand slipping by my undeft hand, according to probability i will understand whilst i'm thoroughly and fully in stability. yet another solid question i would be unable to respond to, shop them coming boyo.

maybe once a while, take a weekend off to do whatever you want to do. go hiking if you like, swimming whatever. don't bring any work with you at all. Go out with your friends, for a movie or something. Or, sometimes what I do, i make myself some pasta, pop in a good, funny movie and watch it bymyslef. kinda gets you out of the real world for a while.

Swami Sukhabodhananda
Commitment is the language of the wise; complaint is that of fools. Commitment is a responsibility and it includes accountability.
Our weaknesses result in disappointment. To overcome disappointment, boost your strengths. The greatest strength comes from the energy of commitment that brings excellence in all walks of life. Few people traverse the road of success without a puncture or two, but it is commitment to excellence that takes them through.
To be committed is not being ‘stuck’; it is an integration of one’s being. If you are committed to honour your word, the base self in you will discourage you. If your energies are low, you will succumb. If you follow the higher self, the lower self will serve you, slowly getting integrated with the higher. In such a state there will be integrity. Without integrity life is shallow.
You are both actor and thinker. Every time you lie, the thinker warns you that you are lying and the actor asks you to shut up and continue telling lies. It is like riding a chariot with two horses going in two different directions. With commitment, however, you are a person of integrity, and excellence is attainable.
Like an eagle, can we test before we trust?
Eagles lay eggs on a cliff or high peak in nest of grass and thorns. When the eggs hatch, the weight of the eaglets exerts pressure and the thorns start pricking the newborns. Then the female pushes the eaglets out of the nest. As the eaglets nearly fall, the male picks them and places them back in the nest.
Meanwhile, the female removes the upper layer of grass, so that the eaglets rest directly on the thorns that prick them. The eaglets are yet to test their wings. Now the male pushes the eaglets out of the nest. This process continues till such time that the eaglets are able to foresee the danger in falling and start using their wings. Slowly they realise their ability to use their wings and start flying.
Observe the commitment of an eagle reflected in the way it executes family responsibilities and the way it conducts itself while parenting. Bring similar commitment to all walks of life; be it in the family, at work, in society or in your spiritual life. Excellence happens when there is love that helps you to grow and contribute.
Commitment also involves dropping illusions. We do not see the world as it is; we see it projected through our verbose minds. Our minds are filled with thoughts and words. Words represent experiences. Words are also influenced by memory. From the past, we see the present. Hence we create illusions created by words, but we must filter them wisely.
The mind creates dreams. The aware self in you sees reality. Awareness without the ‘I’ is the higher self. The mind with its illusions is the lower self. Have the commitment to operate from the higher self.
Through commitment, balance all walks of your life... family, work, social and spiritual. Creativity is to balance all walks of life. Creativity is just not creating something new always. Creativity brings excellence in one’s life. It is a state of well-being. Well-being creates completion. When one is complete, one is alive and vibrant in all walks of life.
