As a Christian I have to ask something that most fellow Christians apparently don’t understand. I know that this is not a stringent consensus among Christians, but I’m sure it is a fair generalization. I heard the argument of how birth control and abortion are a way of “playing God” by preventing the birth of a child God wanted to be born. Understandable, but when women and/or men are unable to have children, why can’t the same argument be inversely used for those who choose to go to a fertilization clinic when they find that they can not have children naturally. God is omnipotent. If God wanted that person to have children, wouldn’t that happen? Couldn’t that be God’s way of saying that the person shouldn’t have children?

P.S. please don’t waste space with “go forth and prosper”, because that short phrase doesn’t fill in the gaps or address the actual question.

I honestly don`t believe you can prevent anything from happening, that God wants to happen, But on the same subject, why couldn`t that be the reason for those clinics, maybe God had a hand in putting those clinics there, and what about the homosexuals, that say they are christians, how can they be doing the will of God, if they cannot reproduce, God said be fruitful and multiply, And thats not possable with out some adultry on their part, which would be a sin. not all sickness is caused by God, nor deformaties, or what ever may be wrong with us, some are things that come on us because of sin that wasent dealt with many generations ago, the Bible says our sins will be visited upon our children, and our childrens children, not because it was Gods will, but because they weren`t asked forgivness for, and some things come on us to show the power of God in his healing.

The way I look at it, birth control or abortion is not a form of play GOD as there must be a reason for it. If GOD doee not intend you to have children, whatever means you take, you will never have one and if GOD intends you to have children, whatever prevention method you take, you will still get one. Whatever it is, the reason for taking such action must be genuine and only GOD will know. Be natural and leave it to GOD.

May GOD bless you.

as a Christian, I have no problem with birth control, but abortion is not playing God, it is murder.

if God doesn't want you to have children, it doesn't matter how many clinics you go to, you won't have children.

if He wants you to have a child it won't matter how many pills you take

most of what we do in this life, however; is our choice, the wrong choices lead us further from God the right ones closer

it can, and is.

Well, it raises the argument for me: If God had wanted every pregnant woman to go full term, he would not have led us to discover birth-control devices and chemicals.
Additionally, and conversely, if God had not wanted some couples to have children, he would not have let us find the science that makes in-vitro, etc available as an option.
God sees all - creates all. Not just the parts that are convenient to our thinking.

Generalizations, like good intentions often pave the way to hell. For every rule there is usually at least one exception. It is hard to see things in terms of black in white when so much of it is gray area.

God has the ultimate say in everything. We are mere human beings who were created in His image to serve, worship, know and love Him. We should except whatever hand He deals us. No questions asked.

Correct.
We are doing what we are thinking is good but...God's ways are not ours. Sarah had Joseph very late in her life ...God has plans for all of us, we can not understand them and act changing things;it's very important to pray for our actions, to ask God for everything...

Our pride can kill us if we don't repent, really repent.

For the sake of argument, assuming there is a "God", isn't it possible that he gave us the knowledge of in vitro so that infertile couples COULD have children?

Turn that around, and you see that he also could have given us the knowledge of abortion.
