It has his plus and minuses.
Plus: Your pretty much spoiled and can do what ever you want since this is your parents only parenting experience.

Minus: It can get pretty lonely. My dad was an only child and stated sometimes that he wishes he had a brother or sister. Both of his parents are dead now and it's pretty lonely. He doesn't have family on his side anymore. For the holidays, it gets kind of sad for him, since we always spend the holidays with my mom's side of the family. I wish I could have known more of my dad's side of the family as being his daughter.

In the long run, I would have to say it's better to have brothers or sisters. You might not like it now, but later in life, it becomes on of the most important things to you. Blood is much thicker than water.

I think the grass is always greener on the other side. Kids who are an only child would love to have a brother or sister. Kids with brothers & sisters would like to be an only child.

I love being an only child. No riffs between siblings. I didn't mind it as a kid, but was a little envious of friends of mine with siblings. Then as we all grew up I heard about their fights, wearing each others' clothes, someone being the favorite, etc...
And when it comes to a death estate, no haggling about who got what. But I love my husband's siblings, so it's like I've adopted them in a way.

no. Only children are often lonely for siblings. Your sisters will be a blessing later in life.
