I can tell you so many things, but what worked for me may not for you. You just have to continue with your daily life... I have been thru this twice with a third one soon.

Feel free to email me privately....

Edit @ 1818: Got your message, but can't send you one..your email add has not been verified. I am in Germany...how about you?

Think of it this way, and this is factual--you have a better chance of dying here in the United States than you do as a solider in Iraq. In three years in Iraq, with 300,000 soldiers deployed there, we've lost roughly 3000. That's 1%. The death rate in the United States for any sample of 300,000 people is 4% over those same 3 years. Believe it or not, violent crime rates are also higher in the United States.

My son was in Iraq for 8 1/2 months. I prayed a lot, had many friends that prayed, and joined support groups for his branch of the military online that had mothers, wives, and family that were going through the same thing. You will find that unless people have family in the military, they do not have a clue what you are going through. A strong church group really helps too! Good luck and Godspeed to your husband!

Of course, no one is going to support war. It's a last ditch effort. I'd just say give him a lot of hugs and kisses, and tell him how much you love him. I'm sure he will be fine. But you've said what you can and did what you could with the time you've had with him. No regrets, I say.

God bless you and him. Listen, I do not support this war, but I will always support our troops and the fact that people are so dedicated that they will serve this country. God bless....
