I have 2 school age kids ages 8 and 12 and we have pretty much exhausted recent movies geared towards kids this age. I am trying to compile a list of must see's that we saw as kids that we tend to forget to rent for our kids just because they were not made in the 90's. So far I have thought of Close encounters, superman, back to the future and several more but I just know there are great ones I am overlooking. Please list what you can : )

We've pretty much have seen all the ones listed but I KNOW there has to be a ton from the 70's and 80's I have not thought of.
CF: They watch movies on rainy days and weekend nights with friends when "plopping" in front of the TV is perfectly fine. I don't think working in the garden is done at night.

Tuck Everlasting (from the 90's) is fantastic.
Neverending Story (80's)
Karate Kid (80's)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (70's)
War Games (80's)

"Honey I shrunk the kids"....there are so many more; heck, from the 70s-80s...I love "Escape from Space Mountain" (I think that was the title)...you might want to check out the Disney site because, it seems, all the movies I grew up with were made by Disney. Good luck & enjoy re-living the memories with your kids!

What about Disney's "Old Yeller"....a great one for kids.
Then there's African Queen with Humphry Bogart, I liked that one.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World....the kids would get a kick out of that, I'm sure.
