Is this something that a parent teaches, that group A is bad, and demonizes group A?

Is it that the individual has a bad expirience with someone from group A and then in their own mind think oh A is sub-human.

What is the root cause of hatred.

The root cause of hatred is laziness and fear. Also ego.

This is a complex question with seemingly endless answers.

Yes. It can be taught from childhood. Usually with descriptive expletives that aid in dehumanizing the group that is hated. On the other hand...

As human beings, we make judgments every day. It is a part of our nature. A very necessary part that's programed into us so that we make choices that are right for us. From what we eat for breakfast to whether or not we should take that short-cut down a dark alley, we make judgments almost moment to moment. It's only when a judgment demonizes a group and the individuals within that group that this very necessary part of our nature becomes warped, twisted, and carries with it the potential for war, death and destruction on a planetary scale. Consequently, it is my belief that the root cause of hatred the same vital component to our very survival as a species. It is part of the duality of life itself. We need it yet it could destroy us.

fear is the root cause of hatred of a group
what people dont know gives them a distrust
it is silly really because if they simply trusted a little and got over that fear
they would probably learn a lot from that person/group and find some more wonderful people to call friends

It is much easier to group certain people together and hate them as a group, than on an individual basis. Since you don't really know the people themselves .. it's easier to cast dispersions on a group. You can hate more people that way in the same sentence too. As an example: I hate Marvin because he eats potato chips. Vs. I hate blacks because they eat potato chips. Make sense ? Good Luck! :)

Because most likely they are not happy with a part of themselves and feel better by attacking others. Because in some way it makes them feel in power.

Hopefully some day it changes. But people will always hate something, dislike someone that's just the way it is, and as far as I see it I see no change in the near future.

Because people are ignorant, and some even scared of other races and religious groups. So instead of stating their fear they just state insulting comments. Fear is the root of hatred... I believe...

because society can sometimes teach people at young ages to hate. for example, a 12 year old boy is watching south park, and they are making fun of gay people. the kid is influenced by this show because it is "cool", and they will hate gays too. some people just don't know how to be good

Sin.
I can't think of a person anywhere that doesn't fall into a catergory that someone doesn't like..... We all have a sin nature in us to cause us to be intolerant of someone different, the only thing that can cause that to change is the love of Jesus.
