Cook your pasta, then put it in a colander and run cold water over it. This both cools it and stops it sticking together. Then mix in your dressing. Most dressings are mayonnaise based: for example, one of my favourites is to chop onions very fine and mix them in with the mayonnaise to absorb the flavours, then add tuna. Then mix the tuna-onion-mayo mixture with the pasta. But basically you can add anything you like the mayo and it will make pasta salad - ditto for potato salad if you use potatos.

Ingredients:-

-12 oz. tri-color pasta
-1 med. red onion, diced
-Croutons
-Salt, pepper, and minced garlic to taste
-Oil and vinegar to taste
-1 lb. frozen vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots)
-Grated cheese to taste

Method:-

1) Cook pasta and rinse with cool water.
2) Drain well.
3) Add onion, frozen vegetables and seasonings.
4) Mix well.
5) Let refrigerate overnight.
6) Before serving, top with croutons.
