Breaking up with a love is worse than death. With death you can grieve and move on, with breaking up that person is still around and a reminder of what was. Especially if YOU are the one getting dumped! Time is the thing you need to get over someone and keeping yourself busy so you are distracted from thinking about him so much. It is the rare couple who can split, get back together and make things better than before. ( Just to much baggage in the way) If he was horrible to you before what makes you think he will change his ways? If a guy is an abuser he will most likely need counseling to help deal with this and surly you don't want to be his punching bag the rest of your life! Be thankful you are out of a nasty relationship and find someone worthy of your love.

Maybe he was horrible in your relationship because he didnt care about you the way he should have. And now, he realizes that you are a good person and feels guilty for the way he acted and somehow wants to make up for that. But he doesnt want to get back together. You cant change that. If he was bad to you, why would you want to?

No...dont even bother being friends. Any guy that says they "just want to be friends" has usually just lost interest or found someone else. Don't fool yourself. Save yourself a lot of heartache in the end and just forget him. Dont wait around for the whole "friends" thing just so he can see if it works out wih the other women 1st. trust me...I know...

Girl if he was horrible back then he'll go back to being that way. They allways do. Be friends with him. Because he was probably pretty nice when you first started dating but then he became that way...you have no assurance he won't do it again. He wants to be friends...be friends until you can make sure he won't hurt you again.

You might need to take a break fromt he friendship... it happened to me and it helped a lot with me getting over him... now it would be a lot easier to be friends with him and not feel a lot of attatchment... just take some time apart and see how it turns out.
