you should be proud of him. I guarantee that his dad gets a little choked up and emotional every time he sees his boy watering the lawn.
Boys will be boys. Teach him couth and when it is and is not appropriate to do certain things.
But please - do not hinder him from being a little boy. let him get dirty and climb trees. peeing outside is all part of becoming a man.

All boys go through this. My grandson loved peeing off the back deck. It's a boy/man thing. He will eventually outgrow it if you gently remind him and you may have to do it a lot cause like I said - all males do it. It didn't matter what my grandson was wearing cause he just stripped them off when he wanted to go. Colder weather will help so that maybe by next summer he will have gotten over it. Don't stress over this, it will pass. Maybe you can find him a private spot for now that is 'just for him to use'.

You just need to start expressing to him now that he's not allowed to go potty outside unless he has no other choice and he asks you first.
Tell him the police dont let you pee outside unless you're hiking in the woods or mom and dad say its okay. Since thats actually pretty truethful, and most toddlers have respect for the law.
And then be sure to watch him when he's outside. If he starts to pee outside carry him inside, peepee waggin out and all, and have him pee in the toilet.
I took care of a boy who went through this stage. Little booger. Just teach him that its only okay to potty in the potty.

Okay, I don't profess to being the greatest mother in the world. If you're family is good humored like mine, you could try this one.
I told my son when he was about 4 or 5 that if he didn't quit peeing outside and letting other people see his little pee-pee, the weenie fairy was going to come take it back!! When I told him that, he immediately stuffed it back in his pants and quit doing that. He's older now (11) and knows there's no such thing as the weenie fairy and finds the whole thing quite funny.

This is definately one of the perks of being male!Apparently boys bladders are weaker than girls so their capacity to 'hold it in' isn't as good.So its probably just as well....
I have 2 boys & rather than tell them never to pee outside i've taught them where is an appropriate place & how to be discreet so they protect themselves from 'innapropriate attention' (because sadly this is something that has to be in the forethought of all parents).

Do Nothing. Someone else will eventually tell him off. It will have more of an effect on him. Having been a little boy at one time, if I have the choice of continuing to play outside or, coming home for a wee.....Welll...

I think your worrying far too much -he'll grow out of it. Sometimes my five year old has to go when I'm outside - they only have little bladders and can't hold it as long as us. Wouldn't it be worse if he wet himself? Relax and don't worry what other people think. If you elly are embarrassed try and make him go behind a bush or wall.

tell him if there is a bathroom near by he must use that and the only time he can pee outside is when mommy or daddy says it's ok. and if you catch him before he does it tell him to stop and go inside and use the bathroom. and maybe pants with spenders on it will help? (takes longer to get off then just dropping the pants)

Just tell him he's not allowed to do it unless you say so. If you see him starting to pull his pants down, stop him. It's only acceptable to wee outside if there is no where else to go.

just let him know that it is bad manners to do it, and remind him that when he was a little younger he went outdoors just to avoid accidents. When he goes to the toilet indoors, praise him immediately and let him know how much of a superstar he is when he goes on a toilet. when he goes outside just tell him you are a little disappointed that he couldnt hold on a little longer. if you have no luck with this approach you could give him stars on a little chart every time he asks you to take him to the toilet instead of just going outside. if all else fails you could get a porta-potty (i think by Tomy). the sides of it collapse to fold easily into a small plastic bag in your bag. just tell him he is not allowed to do it outside, and if he continues you will sit him on the potty instead. this is not meant to embarrass him, its just meant to show him another way if he absolutely has to go outside... good luck. besides all that, he will probably grow out of it so quickly once he realises that none of the other little boys (or girls) are doing it. unfortunately peer pressure starts very young...
