I am a senior in high school and am looking into becoming a doctor of some sort. What types of doctors are there? Please list them and describe what sort of work they do. I looked into plastic surgery for awhile and that really interested me but am looking for others as well. Thanks! (And I will be choosing a best answer within the next few hours so be descriptive and thorough!

General Practitioner takes the least amount of time but they rarely work in hospitals. They work in private practice in separate offices and clinics. Most of the doctors in hospitals are specialists and they need to go to school longer.

Cardiologist - Specialist Doctor in dealing with heart / chest
Radiologist - Doctor whom administer X ray , ultrasound etc radialogy dept
Orthapaedic - Doctor who mainly deal with bones and fractures.
Paediatrician - Doctor who mainly deal with children
Nuerosurgeon - Doctor / Surgeon who attends to mainly to patients with nueron problems, something to do with the brain.
Gynaecologist - Women's doctor , specialist in medicine for women's health problems.
Pathologist - Doctor who studies the causes and nature and effect of diseases. Eg post mortem of bodies like in CSI.
There are alot of different specialise medical field you can choose. The above are only a few of examples that are more commonly known.
