Yes, some will. You find the program in the programs folder. Find the main program file the .exe file and then right click on it and select properties. Then compatibility and check the box and select Wondows 98. But it won't work for programs designed to work on XP. I just looked at some programs and the Microsoft ones generally speaking won't run compatible with Win 95/98/ME but others did. But I checked my antivirus and that is compatible (f-secure) , winace, and even Microsoft visual web developer 2005. Whether that will actually work though - you will have to download it and see - I downloaded that for free! wow.

you can use the windows compatibility wizard which is located in programs>accesories,but i have found that its worth trying them normally first as 75% of 98 software i have run on a xp machine runs quite well,the only problems start when you try to install windows 95/ dos games as this is game code that will totally screw up xp

A lot depends on the program. Windows XP prevents programs from manipulating devices and system settings. If the Win98 program does those things, it's not going to work.
There may be WinXP versions of the same programs.

Right click on the installed programme icon and change compatabily mode to win 98 should them run in xp

mostly it can. right click on the progam and click properties click on the select compatibility and click on run this program in compatibility mod of: and change to windows 98
