Kids his age crave attention and recognition, even if it comes from their acting badly. He will or has made a sport of annoying you so he geta a reaction. If you really cannot stand it, you casn try to completely ignore him but be prepared for him to pull out all the stops and attempt to be as annoying as humanly possible in order to get a reaction from you. You can try the other way and get huggy and lovey like a doting sister would do to a brother she truly adores. That mushy stuff will probably drive him away really fast. Either one will work but the mushy loving sister act will probably work the fastest and with the best long term result. You have to do a good acting job so it convinces him. Just don't get carried away with it. Acting like his pal who sticks right by his side might also work. Keep in mind that he is using you as a target from whom he is trying to get a reaction. If you are on his side, like a pal, he'll have to look for someone else to get a reaction from.

Duct tape or strong rope may work !
Of course I 'm just kidding , but that is what I tell my Grandson when he gets out of hand .
Actually until he gets some attention in a positive way he will continue to do anything he can to annoy you . This way he is at least getting some attention even if it's negative .
Play a game with him , or pop a movie in , it would probably do both of you some good to spend time together !

He is 8 enjoy your little brother.. I know sometimes they can be annoying but coming from someone who lost a brother when he was only a year older than me at 5 years old and having another brother 4 years younger than me... Him and I are sooo close today I wouldnt' trade him for the world. I used to really not like my lil brother, but when you think about it.. those are going to be all the funny stories you tell his girlfriend in the future.. Treasure your brother! He can be annoying, but if you were his lil sister.. you would be annoying too..

Brother will be brother I have 5. They will never stop being annoying but when you get into your 20 and 30's you will come to appreciate him. Trust me. The bond that my brothers and I have is very special and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Trust me it will get better. He may just want attention from you. Do something with just you and your brother the memory will stay with him and you forever. You may not realize how much fun it could be.

I never had any luck with it. He became less annoying when he hit 18, but didn't become a real human being until he was about 33... and had kids of his own. Sorry for the poor prognosis. Good luck.
