i respect all the religions but why some people don't respect islam?!!!!!

I am a Muslim and my take on it is:
1) Muslims are not doing any favors to themselves by reacting the way the do ie when the Pope used incorrect sources in his speech.
2) The Media publicise only negative aspects of people who claim to belong to Islam.
3) Media linking Islam to terrorism - where on earth did the word Islamist come from? That's not in any dictionary and I refuse to accept this word. It's rubbing mud in the name of Islam which sounds very much like terrorism!
4) People who follow the masses and have no real concept of the world we live in. Uneducated and gullible people who have no clue of Islam.
5) The Anti-Christ! All the signs are there!

The moral mandate is to respect religious people - as long as they are not anti-social or do harm. There is no logical or moral mandate to respect any religion.
To attempt to "protect" a concept from criticism (and yes, even ridicule) is to admit its weakness. In the world of ideas, and where civilization thrives, my freedom of expression is more important than respect.

They could be either:
totally pissed off by some of the extreme muslims' actions
using the minority's actions as a platform to voice out their dissatisfaction
unaware of the real islam teachings

They don't respect Islam because they don't know anything about it and it's easier to spew hatred than to educate one's self.

Some folks just don't respect anything period. I think they may not respect because they don't know enough about it & (like so many other religions) it's misinterpreted by many.

Too many people are insecure in themselves and need someone to look down on. Christians are very bad about this. And, let's face it-----------some only know what they read and hear in the media-which thrives on sensationalism. They do not study to learn what really is.

Islam is a religion of hate.
Muslims strap bombs on their own children and send them out to murder innocent women and children.
Muslims stone rape victims to death while letting the rapist go free.
So, there is nothing to respect. Islam is an evil false religion.

you respect all religions that is Good but why muslims riot over the popes words burn churches and kill christians even a nun becouse one man stated facts from history how can any one respect a religioin which seems to encourage or at least allow such behaviour ??????
