would you ever brush off a compliment (about being beautiful, sexy, or altogether great) from a guy that you actually really like? Why? Isn't that what you want?

that's ridiculous. I'd be very flattered if I were her. I could only think that maybe she's trying to pretend to be modest and make it look like you don't mean it so you keep giving her the comliments. My bf and I broke up yesterday and I can say for fact he never called me beautiful or great. If a girl brushes off your compliment ask her why...cause i can't think why she would do that.

People, especially women, never see themselves with the same eyes that you see them. You see beautiful and she is focusing on her flaws. Most think they are not as beautiful as any other woman. A lot of women have a distorted body image and they are perfectionistic in their looks. I am sure if you asked the most beautiful woman on earth if she liked her looks, she would find some flaw in them. Modesty is another thing. Nobody wants to appear vain. Someone says...oh you are so beautiful....would not be a good thing to say...awww, yes I know. So compliments get brushed off or the person making the compliments gets a polite thank you.

It is always nice to get a compliment, but it is also nice to be treated normally and not just given compliments to gain extra favour. There are many guys out there who love giving us compliments and at the same time only give them because of one thing on their minds. When a compliment is given for that reason, it doesn't continue to be a compliment.

It's not because the women don't like you. It's because women(like me) get uncomfortable and shy when you compliment them. They don't know what to say to that. Another reason is if a woman gets a lot of compliments, she takes if for granted and don't think anything of it.

OK, relax! one thing you need to know about women is that we don't handle compliments well!!

One thing ALL women could learn, self conscious or NOT is to say "thank you" women someone compliments us. But we are raised to be self conscious about our bodies, and we usually don't BELIEVE compliments, so we blow them off.

Don't worry, she heard you, and she probably bragged to all her friends - but compliments often put us on the spot, and most women don't have the self esteem to smile, acknowledge the compliment and thank the person who said it. Our gut reaction is to change the subject as fast as we can!!

Most women do want these things but some of us have low self esteem and there fore find ourselves unable to accept compliments that are sincere

Most women dont know HOW to accept a compliment, its because they are shy. Just know that she appreciates it, and keep the compliments coming to let her know you approve of her, desire her, and she is good enough for you.

it gets annoying if someone keeps telling you how beautiful and sexy you are . at times you just wanna hear how fun and smart you are so you know looks are not the only think appealing to the guy.

If the time and place are right. If the moment is right. If the meaning is sincere. She may just be embarrassed. Learn her moods like the rhythm of a dance.

We don't want to flatter ourselves....all that much. When a somebody says to me that I look great, I try to brush it off because I just don't think of it that way and I don't want my face to turn beet red.... Either we brush it off because we don't want to be flattered all that much, or we don't think of it that way.
