According to a 3 year calendar I have, Mabon, which I just missed, was on 23rd sept, but next year it is on 22nd. Is it something to do with the cycle of the moon and planets? I'm new to this, and some of the books I have say that the Equinoxes fall on the 21st.
Is there a right or wrong or does it depend on the path?

Thats what I thought, but I wasn't sure. How come books don't say that?

This is because the earth takes 365 1/4 days to complete one orbit around the sun. As it would be impractical to observe the 6 hour shift, instead we add a day every four years. The Gregorian calendar uses the 365 day model, as a result events shift on that calendar. The Equinoxes and Solstices are based on planetary movement which produces a calendar of 13 months each of 28 days. When you overlay the lunar calendar onto the Gregorian calendar you will see that over time the Solstices and Equinoxes tend to wander from year to year.

Lynn S explained that beautifully. I am posting a link that shows the exact time if Equinoxes and Solstices. I now you are new to Wicca and thought you may be interested in knowing that there are some people that celebrate the 4 high days on the actual cross quarter day, this chart will also provide that information if you are interested. You may need to adjust the time for your area. http://www.archaeoastronomy.com/index.shtml

And if he gets uninterested in all of it the next day, the only guy or woman he will have monetary responsibilities to is the baby. No messy divorce, no legal experts, no courtroom expenditures, no alimony, no splitting of components. Because they follow the sun cycles, not the calender. The calender closely follows the sun cycles, but not exactly which is why we have leap years.
