Jesus meant that others will try to dissuade you from standing fast to your beliefs, and to not listen to them.

This is a sign from God that Jesus was a true Prophet of God.
All Prophets and his followers have suffered from persecution - this is always the case as non-believers try to turn people away from the true message of God.
Look at history and you will see this is the case for all Prophets - it does not necessarily mean that you too should persecuted. This form of persecution is suffered at the hands of the earlier followers of such a Prophet until the truth is spread to the people God intended the message to reach.
The next community to suffer will be those who are the followers of the Promised Messiah - this will be one of the many signs of the second coming!

Hi,
I have been. The world has attacked me. This is what i have been calling Hell in previous posts. This is why I have been calling myself a true Christian. I may have come accross like maybe as feeling better than, but it more that I know more and can see better now and I worry about those that think it its gonna be a piece of cake..It is going down different than you had ever imagined and you have to fight like a brave///
The Night is gonna close in, the world will come in to build a wall between you and Him (at that moment no one is gonna ask the question saved from what?? anymore!!), you will need to go to the desert and it will take some time to get to the water.. (symbols for bible and SONGLYRICS will tell you)
On the other hand He says together we can make it till the end of the night, He says He really needs you tonight and that FOREVER is gonna start tonight (song total eclipse of the heart//
For me it is almost daybreak. He is in me and I am in Him..(In it three years)
Those that completely surrender to Love whose aura or "clothes" look "Lovestruck"... He calls you then at that moment and you need to be willing to Fight for your Love, harder then you can ever imagine now. You gotta go full on..Pittbullfaith..Healing after will take a lt of alternative medinine and healing you may now think as incompaTABLE WITH "THE bIBLE", BECAUSE people have not fully interpreted it. You need to have an open mind..
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is the conversion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Mind and body. Like a convertable the roof comes up. It is scary at first but it makes for a cool ride!!! Read about what it says in the bible do not always skip the parts you do not yet get!! And listen to Lyrics God is talking to us all the time!!!

Truly, many are confused and hate Christ, because of OLD
teachings, and they think they will be punished unjustly.
But the message of Christ is that our Creator doesn't "pass the
buck". He knows what this world is like, and has given us a way out. But we have to accept it.
I'm afraid however. That many believers think they are being
persecuted for their faith. When they are really being persecuted
because they continue to teach in the self-righteous manner
of EVIL.

It's the gays who are persecuted. Christians have not been persecuted in sixteen hundred years. Unless you want to count the women and heretics they they tortured and murdered.

If you actually start to follow the exact teachings of Jesus this will start to happen.
Few are ready to accept His true teachings, and they will criticize you when you do.
No religion follows the true teachings of Jesus

It could be a way to gauge your "Christianess" but I think he said it more as...in a weird way to comfort us. To not be so surprised when we do get persecuted for following/believing in Him. Alas we must carry our cross.
~God bless. ^_^
