What do you think is the use of algebra in real life? Sorry... I rarely ask a question... and I was just wondering about this topic. Thanks.

It's used all the time - any time you have at least one unknown thing and you use the things you know to figure out the unknown. Like... what if you want make twice as many brownies as the recipe yields. Figuring out how to change the recipe measurements is basic algebra.

There have been cases where I needed to apply Algebra, but they were generally tied to my profession (Finance and IT).
I do believe that the thought process behind Algebra was a very beneficial learning tool. In short, it not Algebra you will be using, but a training of how to think.
