You are in the right category.
This has a lot more to do with Religion & Spirituality than the nonsense in the bible.
The trick is in understanding the energetic nature and basis of matter.
Seeing energy as matter is a trick of perception. It never really ceases to be energy, except in the perceptual interpretation of the observer.
It is at the point where we start to disengage from the perceptual misinterpertation of the enegery as matter that this all starts to become clear.
The math works because it does not rely on perception for its reality.

I find it odd that you can somehow imagine the nucleus of an atom, having not seen it. The idea that something is made up of something smaller than itself seems relatively intuitive to me. There have been identified several different sub-atomic particles (quarks, photons, neutrinos). If you're curious, take a physics course in a local college, where the tuition is low, but the payoff can be exceedingly high. And by the way, string theory is still controversial, although not wholly discounted.
Or otherwise, find some peace of mind in trusting scientists to figure it out for you. They'll teach teach your children later what they've found.

You might want to post this question under Physics.
I know I'm going to be yelled at in here, but the Big Bank theory says that the entire universe was compressed down to a tiny thing smaller than the period at the end of this sentence.
Over in Physics, you might like to ask questions about the non-fluidity of time and the shortest piece of time which can exist.

How does this work?
The question can be answered on so many levels.
How does the human body work. How does a computer.
How does lightening strike.
Why do we fall in love.
Ultimately, we as a human race must grapple with how does matter work at the smallest of units.
This will require the greatest minds of their time.
There were benefits to society when we looked under a microscope.
There is a benefit to looking throught the telescope and pushing outward to the moon and mars and the stars.
The way things work, we are curious, yes we are.

The nucleus of an atom is not solid, it is a bundle of energy and is in and of itself a little tiny universe that looks just like the one we can see we when look up at night.
The universe is infinite in both directions. "Matter" does not exist as a physical object on a subatomic scale. "Matter" is just bundles of energy that can be correctly compared to little tiny universes that go on into infinity in the negative direction.

String Theory is a RIP-OFF of Native teachings. Shamans say they can SEE a weblike system of light that permeates reality.

quantum is disturbing as it show the fabric of space time in a way that is hard to understand ,with string theory it makes time travel feasible, this is deep stuff .the future of the world depend on these theorys, they are the science of god

I can't see energy...but it's there. Ironically, this sounds like God.
