Actually, we abolished winter in Canada many years ago. It's just a story we tell people so they won't come here. We really have a tropical climate, much like Cuba. The snow you see in pictures is really made out of styrofoam, and we rent parkas from Disney.

I live on the lower west coast, and rarely does it get below 0 during the winter. Heck, last winter we had 2 days of snowfall, one in November one in February, and we got about a 1/2" each one. So, if you're on the westcoast it would be a lot warmer than anywhere else in Canada.

It depends where in Canada you go. Generally Southern Ontario and lower west coast (like Vancouver) is milder and moister with normal temps around -15 to -25 Celsius. The prairies (Regina, Winnipeg) are dryer and colder with normal temperatures around - 20 to -30 Celsius.

Buy warm clothes!

It will be VERY cold, by all your standards. Ice-statue cold, from relatively mild in November in Ontario (still, already freezing with snowfalls), to F****** cold in feb everywhere.

On the bright side, you can have periods of startling sunny wheather - but still at -30C.... if that is a bright side.
