Seems that alot of people gain the weight back after this surgery. It appears to last a few years but then the weight comes back.Don't know the exact reason, maybe the stomach stretches back out?A woman in my church had this surgery a few years ago, probably about 3.She is gaining the weight back quickly it seems. She was so thin after the surgery, but her weight is almost back to where it was before the surgery.

Yes it is possible, and it is happening a lot lately.. the reason is that people do not understand that Gastric Bypass and other Weight Loss Surgery methods are NOT a magic bullet or a set-it-and-forget-ti solution.. it is only 25% of the solution.. if your mind is not setup to change your eating habits, you will be able to gain weight back... your mind is stronger than your body.... So if someone is undergoing Gastric Bypass, they have to be prepared ALSO TO CHANGE their eating habits forever.

Yes, Carnie Wilson is the best example. She gained weight about 3 years after her surgery, and she said her weight was creeping back to her old weight (pre-surgery) so she did a diet overhaul.

People who have bariatric (gastric bypass) surgeries are given diets to follow and encouraged to make lifestyle changes. If they do not follow their diet and exercise, they will gain the weight back. It's a pretty risky and expensive operation to have done, and not make the lifestyle changes necessary.
