The weather starts heating up in August usually, but the actual summer season doesn't start until December 1st but it's usually hot with packed beaches well and truely by November.

Do your home work.

Summer starts in most parts of Australia in December and it stays warm until around mid April.

However, Northern Australia has monsoon season, which also starts around the end of November and runs through to April, so you don't want to be in Cairns or Darwin at that time of year.

I suggest Sydney or the Gold Coast. Melbourne is great, but to get to the best beaches is over an hour in the car.

The best time to come would be in Jan or Feb, because your almost guarenteed good weather, and that is the best time for meeting young people as most schools have most or all of Jan off and most universities or colleges have most or all of Jan and Feb off. The beaches are pretty good everywhere, but many poeple say the best beaches are along the eastern coast, from Queensland, through NSW down to Victoria. Surfers Paradise, Manly and Port Melbourne are 3 excellent areas for beaches, one in each of the eastern states with beaches.

Summer starts in december! and it dun stop till feburary, but its already heating up now (thank u very much global warming). if u cant come december, november is hot enuf. december is the holiday season though. I live in sydney but the best beaches are in brisbane, they have a lota theme parks there as well. if you come to sydney dont go to cronulla beach coz they ll bash the crap outa ya (unless you look anglo-saxon).
