The Holy Ghost is God speaking to us. You will know it when God speaks to you if you are really listening to Him. I do not dismiss anyones claims if they say that God spoke to them. He has spoken to me. Just because a booming voice doesn't come down from the sky like in Moses day doesn't mean that He does not or does not want to communicate with us.

Perhaps we do not listen hard enough or correctly. I am skeptical if anyone, religious figure or not says he spoke directly in an actual one on one verbal conversation to God. I believe God speaks to everyone in subtle things around you and you have to be still and recognize it for what it is. In fact, in many cases I would say the common man on the strett would have a better chance at having such a conversation than Some of the theologians I have come into contact with or been exposed to.

God speaks to us in different ways. I, for one, don't buy a lot of the crap these idiot evangical leaders rave about (when they claim to talk to God). A lot of them (not all of them) are hypocrites. Some folks like the power issue....so they will listen to those in "respectable" positions...but, unfortunately, shun those that aren't in a power position. It's sad...but some of the best wisdom I have heard came from folks who were broke....(and some that were well do to...but very humble in life).

God speaks through the heart...sometimes though the mind...and often...through the good deeds of other people. We are brain washed to believe some of the bullsh*t these "powerful" because it's human nature to like to listen/be with people with leadership skills.

Just remember that leadership skills don't always translate into good deeds.......

hope this helps

Society doesn't believe in God at least all the cool kids and the ones on the news.

People get all weird when a person talks about religion or God. Why? This only happens in America and Europe...why?

If you are hearing the voice of "God" in your head, you need to talk to a psychiatist immediately. There are medications that can help.
Those who claim divine guidance are charlatans or madmen, a priori. All of them. No exceptions. Period.
If someone tells you God is guiding their actions, you should run the other way, and if they follow, defend yourself with all the force necessary.
If the person is "powerful" (as in "elected"), then remember this rule and that second Tuesday in November, use that most potent weapon given you by the Founding Fathers - your vote.

God had the bible written because his laws had to fall into the hands of his people. They have, and he has no need to converse with individuals. When they say he has spoke to them you can rest assured he has not.
Preacher embellish a great deal to ask for Rich's.
There are many stories of preachers whose fondest dreams are of wealth. Don't be fooled. God's only words are found in the bible, not on the lips of clergy.

Have you tried to ask him?? They search for him and thats what makes the difference, some people sit by and wait to listen to others,, I want to hear from the Lord so I ask him myself and he does show me..I know it really can freak many out but in the outcome I will not care what others think of me because it is my life I live and not thiers,,it is my heart I search and make sure it is doing the will of my father..I choose this life weither it is right or wrong in anyone eyes...

That's one of the things I always had trouble with. According to the Bible...he chose the Jews as his people for no good reason, then dumped them for a lamer one. He was chatting to people left and right back then, but hasn't uttered a word for thousands of years, but we are supposed to believe he loves us? What kind of father would treat his children like that? The whole thing smacks of lies and manipulation. If he really loved us, he wouldn't put us through the mental torture of uncertainy. He would speak to us. Therefore, I don't believe all the trite Christian answers to excuse his behavior.

It's because you have this powerful tool called free will and that creates negative karma that acts as a barrier to having a knowledge of the divine. The only people who truly know "God" are those who have broken the chains of the materialist desires that bind us.

Some people do.
Why do you think this should be easy?
Others are schizophrenic and their mouths are full of camel dung.
But some people actually have spoken with the God who is Love.
