He's nothing more than a myth, so no he isn't insane. But, for the bible thumpers that do believe in him, yes, I think by looking at the bible, any god that would rule his subjects that way is insane.
He is an all-powerful loving god. Yet, his own book is written with the clearness of mud. His own followers can't agree which parts of the bible to follow, and what they even mean!
Let's take a little of this and a little of that. The old parts don't apply, only the newer ones do., But, we will still take certain books and hide them away, because they don't fit in with the over-all theme. Why not keep those other books? I mean the old testament has plenty of books that don't matter, so keep them all.
So this all powerful being claims to answer prayer and heal and to reveal himself when asked. But, that revealing himself is never anything more than religious zealots claimingto have "felt" his presence. Nothing tangible there. Just because I come here claiming to have felt the Easter Bunny touch me in-appropriately, that doesn't give it any credence.
When was the last time god cured someone with aids? I mean, he says that if people believe and ask in his name he will cure, but I don't know a single case of aids going away.
And, in our day, every time a person has claimed that a sick person was miraculously healed, there was no proof. The resat of humanity attributes it to the skilled doctor or coincidence but the zealot believes it was God.
There have even been huge medical studies at places like Johns Hopkins. A hundred or so patients are in each group, group A knows their friends and family are praying for them to recover. Group B does not know that their friends and family are praying for them, and Group C has no prayers.
Group B and C were virtually tied together. Group A however, actually had more people that did NOT recover. Scientists and doctors attribute it to the fact that they felt they did not have to fight the disease, because God was fighting for them.
So again, there was no proof that prayer makes a difference.
My point is, anyone willing to believe the drivel about this god, would have to be insane.

Do you suppose that Hitler should share the same fate and blessings as say Mother Teresa or Ghandi. Is it insane to give us a mind to think with and then give us a choice to make and then expect us to make the right decision. How many people could I slaughter and still go to heaven and be with God. There is a Hell and if it serves only one function it is this, to motivate us to do the right thing and punish those who do not. God gives us a choice. It is insane to think we should make the right choice.

Are people insane?
Why would people reject a loving God who desires only to save them?

It's the minds that created "god" that are insane.

It seems that this god creature is so vain and vindictive that if you do not stroke it's ego by worshiping it in a highly proscribed manner, it tortures you for eternity in everlasting fire. Now that sounds like a highly disturbed creature that is hardly worthy of worship or respect.

If you break a law why you get punished?
The same way if you break Gods law you will get a punishment.
And not all the people will go to hell.
If you do not believe in God please read 'Evolution Deceit'

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
IF someone ends up in hell, they choose that path for themselves. To accept Jesus willingly will keep you from hell, and you shall have eternal life in heaven. No one is forcing anyone to accept Jesus as their savior. Those who choose to reject Jesus, choose the path to hell, and they condemned themselves. Don't blame God for that. They picked hell. God gave everyone the same way to heaven, It is up to you to choose it willingly or reject it. Live with the results of what ever you choose, and stop blaming God for your choices in life.

Depends which god your talking about? There some crazy gods out there. Personally i cannot understand how any god can have a personality if he doesn't have a presence that can be studied.

Sanity is sort of like comformity.
Most of the greatest minds were insane to some degree.
Always thinking out of the box AND contributing.
I think of god more like having multiple personality syndrome, and we are the personalities.
