Basically, gothic music is an umbrella term given to many different types of music that goths like to listen to. This covers (among other things) darkwave (which is very electronic); ethereal (which sounds like Enya with a bad case of depression); deathrock (which sounds like punk rock with lyrics about depression, zombies, Satan and the undead); neofolk (imagine if Simon and Garfrunkel had been obsessed with European folklore and had a really big mean streak); and of course, classic Gothic Rock like The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and Fields of the Nephilim.

no it doesnt seem to be compatible with the teachings in the bible
however not all goth type music goes against God
it is simply music aimed at rebellious teens ... and this has happened throughout the past 100 years
think about rock and roll from the 50s the hippies of the 60s the punks of the 70s etc
it is just another reason to rebel against society and in my opinion is very much needed for most teens to find their true identity
groups these days like Nightwish ( a popular goth group )etc can be likened to opera or old celtic type music and most of it is quite beautiful
but these rebellious teens will always be portrayed as dark ... deep down they are wonderful people ... just misunderstood

You must have been out of town for a long time, Goth music has been around since the late 1970's.
Goth is about embracing the morbidity and hopelessness of the human race according to the Bible. So yes it is compatable as it was created by christianity.
As is Satanism.
According to the new testement, Jesus was a violent, self confessed alcoholic and glutton who dispised families, worked on the sabbath and had weird homosexual fetishishes. So that about covers Punk, Rock and Hip-hop.
Ill give you all the bible references if you email me.

Gothic music does not talk about God or spiritual matters, so it neither conflicts or is compatible with the Bible. Most Gothic songs have to do with lost love, feelings of pain and alienation, or are stories about fictitious events. Punk rock is anti-establishment, and often nihilistic, but is not expressly non-Christian. Rap, on the other hand, sometimes supports a violent lifestyle, so some rap songs can be perceived as anti-Christian (although almost all rappers claim they are Christians).

No. If it does not bring Glory to God it Is not compatible with Him. It is against Him.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God
