I bow my head and contemplate
The wonders of this life.
The joy that I've been given,
And also too the strife.
I have loved and laughed so much,
I cannot in conscious complain.
God has sent me such beauty,
Why should I be spared the pain?
I have enjoyed blessed health.
So I now embrace it's loss.
If this is the price for the life I've lived,
I shall gladly pay the cost.
Life is life as long as you choose it.
Love and peace need never go away.
So I shall not complain about the little trials,
That surely come my way

Actually I wrote it. Yesterday. I have come to accept that I have no right to complain about struggles and personal problems.

I would love to hear more about what you are feeling/experiencing/thinking when you speak of "embracing" the loss of health. I think that what you are saying here is quite profound--and shows some deep reflecting on sickness and disability in our lives. This is an area I am writing on as a theologian, and I find it interesting and commendable that you have moved beyond "Why me?" to a deeper level of "why not me --and what can this illness teach me/teach others." That said, I do not mean to minimize or trivialize any suffering you are experiencing, but wanted to thank you for sharing and encourage you to continue to embrace the loss as you are able, writing about it as much as you can.

Fair play to you. If only everybody could realise the same. Unfortunately when the trials do come our way, God is blamed. Maybe he is responsible, maybe he has a bigger plan for us? Only God knows the answers to these kinds of questions. You will not find the answer on yahoo Answers, that is for sure.

I don't think it is silly at all. I think it's beautiful and well written. If it is yours I think you should submit it for publication. A good place to begin would be a magazine about healthcare, nursing home or inspiration for the elderly.

what one refers to as " silly " another may find " inspiring " and others may find " full of truth " or other feelings and emotions. all of us need to show our individuality as we are not robots but have been given " free will " to view things as we see fit not necessarily like everyone else.
