Many people believe they are not relevant today; they eat Pork and scavenger shellfish...

I'm a Christian, and I keep them, but why do you either keep God's clean and unclean meats dietary law, or why don't you?

to "BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN" what kind of Christian are you to say I'm not a Christian? Who made you a judge? What kind of Christian calls another one "ignorant" Check yourself to see if your pompous beliefs are Christ like!!!
To "Super stud"....it's a question for those intelligent enough to give their viewpoint, Obviously, you find this question "spewing propaganda",.... lighten up! It's a question ...and I'm interested in people with differing opinions to answer. You could have just NOT answered it!

"Sword Lord"....no I am not an Orthodox Jew.
As I stated, I am a Christian. I simply keep the dietary food laws for health reasons, not because it's a law. I really believe that God knows what we should eat to maintain our health. Besides, did God create Christians bodily systems different than Jewish bodily systems??? The meats I'm referring to were created as scavengers, they clean up the waste of other animals. etc...has that changed?

Your question doesn't state whether or not you do so because of law or preference.

If because of law, no such law exists any longer.

If because of preference, than it's your right.

Proper cooking should eliminate most, if not all current issues with pork.

Shellfish can still be a problem, depending on what's going on in the waters they came from.

I don't have any issues with eating lean pork, and I rarely eat shellfish.

Personal preference.

There is a Chapter in the book of Acts that talks about where Peter or Paul (I get them confused) saw a blanket being lowered and on the sheet was cloved hoofed animals and scavenger and God said arise and eat which I have clensed.
Also hon someone once told me this when I asked them the same question. They explained to me those were strictly used for the jewish people of that time. And true while eating less pork and scavenger products may be healthier for us there is nothing required of us now dietary wise because Jesus changed all of that when he took our sins from us and was crucified.
But no I do not follow what would be considered the Jewish dietary guidelines, but if you do that is good it all boils down to what you feel is right between you and God and noone else.

God has made all animals clean.

Acts 10:15
15T he voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean"

blood is expressly forbidden in both the old and new testaments
Genesis 9:3-4
3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 "But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.

Also Romans 14 1-8 is interesting too

Contrary to some of the answers you already received, the Bible actually has an account of this situation. Take note of the Apostle Peter who, according to the account in Acts, showed that he was partial to the mosaic law given to Israel on determining what was clean & unclean to eat. The account reads in Acts 10:9 "The next day as they were pursuing their journey and were approaching the city, Peter went up to the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 10 But he became very hungry and wanted to eat. While they were preparing, he fell into a trance 11 and beheld heaven opened and some sort of vessel descending like a great linen sheet being let down by its four extremities upon the earth; 12 and in it there were all sorts of four-footed creatures and creeping things of the earth and birds of heaven. 13 And a voice came to him: “Rise, Peter, slaughter and eat!” 14 But Peter said: “Not at all, Lord, because never have I eaten anything defiled and unclean.” 15 And the voice [spoke] again to him, the second time: “You stop calling defiled the things God has cleansed". So, the lesson here is that some foods that were previously unapproved for the nation of Israel to eat later became foods that were cleansed for consumption. The Law covenant given to the nation of Israel was abolished when Jesus was on Earth. Shortly before his death, Jesus told his followers that his shed blood was the “blood of the [new] covenant.” (Matthew 26:28; Luke 22:20) Ten days after he ascended to heaven, the new covenant was seen to be in operation when holy spirit was poured out on about 120 disciples gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem. (Acts 1:15; 2:1-4) The bringing of these 120 disciples into the new covenant showed that the “former” covenant, the Law covenant, was now obsolete. Hope that helps.

I eat what I developed into being able to eat because of EVOLUTION, not some imaginary god figure said I should eat.

Though you do raise a point on the hypocrisy of many believers.

Their supposed creator said not to eat certain things, things that are among the tastiets foods out there, yet they eat them.

And nothing happens to them because of it.

The things in the bible are based on the fact that years ago many people died from eating pork & shellfish because they weren't being eaten fresh or stored properly.

It has nothing to do with a god saying not to eat them, it has all to do with the danger there was in eating them.

This is no longer a problem in most of the world due to refrigeration.

Well, in the new testiment Jesus spoke that we are allowed to eat all things,,the only meats you don't eat is when they have been offered to other idols..If you was to sit at a table and getting ready to eat and they start to pray to some other god other than the one true God in heaven then you just repectfully decline and do not eat the food,,because it therefore has been offered up to another idol..

God doesn't have any food laws! Each man-made religion usually has something to say on the subject because they just don't know when to stop making rules for others to worry about. Eat well!

In the book of Acts, Jehovah God declared all food clean. So if you want to eat a ham sandwich, knock yourself out.

I never gave instructions on food, sorry. That was invented by men who decided to eat certain foods to honor me, which on the whole is a little strange considering home many great resturants there are in the world. Personally I blame Jesus for the whole loves and fishes thing, I mean people Sooooo took that the wrong way!. God loves ALL food (with the exception of Durian, that really was a mistake!)
