Even God needed a rest day. Its good to rest even if you don't need to. Stop and appreciate what you have been making. Its good just to appreciate.
But what's a day, the setting and rising of the Sun? But the Sun doesn't set the earth just presents another face to the Sun. What is a day for God? He didn't create the Sun, according to Genesis, until the fourth day. What was a day before the Sun was created?
The greatest moral importance of the Sabbath Rest was that slaves would not be expected to work continuously. One day in seven, a good master would let them rest.
Now it's been turned into a competition - our sabath day against theirs. This is not good. The Apostles went to the temple on the Sabbath, Saturday, and them met on the Sunday, the Lord's day, the day of the week that he rose from the dead. They gathered to celebrate, to remember, to support each other in faith. When the Jewish leaders banned them from the synagogue, they continued to met in houses and so, Sunday became the day for the Christian Sabbath, their day to appreciate their family and other gifts from God.
Now of course the god of money commands that we work every day; it commands that we should work into the dark every night. The family at home, sitting down to the evening meal can wait, lovemaking can wait, child bearing can wait until you can afford it. Marriage can wait. Money first, then life. Is it appreciated, No; its that filthy moo-la. Is it for others, no its to keep to yourself. How much do you need? More than you will ever need.
This is the sin against the Sabbath and always has been, that the person be valued for his possession rather than for the person he is. Often in our society people are identified by what they do, rather than who they are. People in YA even ask it of God: What can he do?; Why doesn't he do more? I will believe if he proves himself.
A man returns from war, with limbs missing. Is he valued as a national hero or cast aside as useless? How does he see himself?
The virtue of the Sabbath is to reflect on the gifts of life, the fact that we are here, alive. We have parents and grand parents, children and neighbors. We live in communities of millions who mostly work for the betterment of their neighbors. If we do not stop to appreciate it, how will we every find time to feel joyful, to celebrate our many gifts.
It would be great if we could all stop and enjoy a day of celebration every week, to be with those we love to pause from the constant race to sell and profit. Friday, Saturday whatever but lets not find another division in an ideal of equality.

For all we know, God started working on Wednesday and that should be the first day of the week, making Tuesday the 7th day and so the correct Sabbath. We may have the whole calendar wrong. IMO, if a person wants to observe the Sabbath, they should choose for themself which one day of the week they want to stop work and rest like God is believed to have done.

Sister, The word sabbath means REST. I worship on Sundays, But I really worship every day, For the rest today is in Jesus Christ, If we had to keep a certain day, The Jews kept it from Friday evening to Saturday Evening, we keep it on Sunday as a token our Lord rose again on the first day of the week. But they condemed Jesus because he pluck corn on the Jewish sabbath, That is why I have always said that Jesus did not do away with the laws, but he came to fulfill the laws. Now The True Sababth(REST) is in Jesus, didn't Jesus say come unto me, & I will give you REST. I know many Christains will Thumbs down me on this, that is OK, I am not here for points or thumbs up or down, I am here hoping that I can help just one person that don't understand something. Now Sister to back up what I said go to Colossians 2:16-17 Plus there is many more places I can take you to. But this will do. 16: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, Or the Sabbath days. 17: Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. So as you can read, it says let NO MAN OR NO ONE JUDGE YOU IN THE SABBATH DAYS. that Sabbath or REST is that Holy Ghost in us, That is our peace & Hope & out REST. I will not condem nyone that wants to use Saturday, my own fleshly sister worships on Saturday, She knows I worship on Sundays, But Truely I worship Everyday, Because Jesus is My REST. I hopw this helps you some.

Are you still living under the law? Although many today refer to the Sabbath as Sunday, the Sabbath of the Bible was on Saturday. Even though many think of Sunday as the weekend, most modern calendars show Sunday to be the first day of the week. In the Old Testament, the Jews were commanded to rest on the Sabbath. Since Christians are not under the law we are not commanded to keep it. See even Jesus "worked" on sabbath.
Mark 3:4,5 Then He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they kept silent. And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. Hebrews 9:15-18 And for this reason He [Christ] is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood

When Jesus gave us the new covenant in his blood, all the old stuff expired. If it were otherwise, he would have called it the "modified" covenant.
Shortly thereafter, he founded his Church, and gave it the sole authority to bind and loose, as only the Church saw fit, both on earth and in heaven.
One of the first things the Church did was to move the Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday.
The Church need not provide any rationale or justification for this, and scripture doesn't attempt to provide any specific rationale for it, either.
The Church eventually readopted and readapted certain other portions of the old covenant, and made them part of the new covenant as well, exactly as God had anticipated, and for which he quite properly provided.

Did God create days of the week, or did man? Because I personally don't think that God really cares which day we choose to blow off responsibility and sit around and rest.

It doesn't matter which day you decide on, as long as you decide. God will not hold it against you, for example, if you decide to worship him on Wednesday, Thursday or any other day. The calendar is completely irrelevant! Praise God! (by the way...it's Sunday)

Shabbat isn't one of the vital Seven mizvot of the bnei Noah. I beleive that individuals who actualy name themselves bnei Noah ensure to do a little small movement to represent that they don't seem to be preserving Shabbat (like preserve a pebble within the pocket or turn a gentle transfer)
